But the tide waits for no man, and it is turning, as surely as and as slowly as you can't see the clouds move across the sky but if you look away for just a minute, when you turn your head back, sure enough, things have moved on a bit again and those clouds that were once over the church spire are now over the village rooftops.

I was perusing the holy arrse website today, that last bastion of 'free speech' in the UK, that somehow gets cut a little slack because it recruits for the british army and also is a bit of a haven for those that have served and retired as well. They are pretty good eggs on the whole. And it really is one of the last places on the whole of the internet, anwhere in the world where you can make a bad joke. Sometimes the jokes are even good!

If you aren't familiar with arrse culture, that is a fucking metric fuck ton of "FUCK YEAH!!!".
That is the first post by the way. It's worth following the whole thread and reading every single post so far. Lots of good humour. No nasty racist shit because that is not tolerated at arrse (it isn't Kiwi Farms after all). You can't even say 'nigger' any more. But you might get away with 'Gibson's Dog' in context.
If you are interested in race relations there is a gold mine of info there for you. Apart from the funny stuff, there is serious stuff too. And fuck me, they even throw in a bit of (((abstract))) thinking as well in (((code))).
You see, even though women might be joining the army, and not just joining the army, but going for higher positions as officers in no less than the illustrious Parachute Regt. and even though they kind of lean 'new' left these days, there is still a sentiment that what is happening with all this BLM shit is just plain fucking wrong. Keep in mind there are quite a few policemen (and women) who post there as well.
It's a good indicator to see which way the wind blows those clouds...
Sure, Kiwi Farms if full of spakkers and autists and is a 'niche' product, even on the internet, but these lads and lasses do it for real in real time and don't get to respawn when they take a bullet or their parachute fails to open, all in real time and real life again. I think that affords a certain amount of respect. And sure, half of arrse is full of never served civvies and old has been alkies who didn't quite make it to the balcony, but even they deserve a certain amount of respect as well, because that forum is not for the fucking faint hearted. over here as well. We've chatted. There aren't
that many places on the internet left where you can have a bit of banter. Arrse will be gone in a year or two as will the Farms, so let's just all make our peace and enjoy what's left of the good life, while we can. We aren't so different after all. We just want what is right for each other (and ourselves). We just want a better, fairer world, and are prepared to fight for it (in our own little ways), but we all have our arms tied behind our backs. We do what we can, and some of us do more than others. That's a given.
The real question we need to be asking ourselves is: "who's shaking the jar, and why?".
If you are reading this kind of (((comment))) on a forum for recruiting people in to the British Military, you can be damn sure that somewhere, on some distant beach, the tide is turning somewhere...
... And as those waves roll out, they will be rolling back in to some other sunny beach, perhaps even as a Tsunami, perhaps even in the dead of night, when the people there expect it least of all (God forbid).
Just as not all police are 'pigs', so it would seem that not all army are 'baby killers'.
