In my experience, many male feminists rarely care for the struggle of women's rights, they usually become feminists only to score some cheap pussy that will later turn against them because the girls they snagged eventually want a real man. If they were truly male feminists, they'd be fighting for women's rights in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, where women really do have problems in society that don't boil down to "X made me angry/triggered/offended."

It practically is. Back then, the joke was that any preacher or politician who is hard on gays and sexual deviancy is a gay person or a sexual deviant themselves. Now, as events like the Harvey Weinstein case blow up on faces, the facade of male feminism is falling apart right before us, as many male feminists are exposed as either A) thirsty beta males, or B) creepy sex fiends.

Modern feminism and Christianity cannot mix. Modern feminists want to overthrow religion because it's patriarchal, especially Christianity which was founded by 13 guys with women not being allowed to become priests or leaders. The Bible preaches that women should be subservient to their husbands, feminists want the opposite. Early feminism had some support from the Church seeing as how they wanted the men to be more moral (ie. stop getting drunk and acting like assholes) and many women back then were religious, so the Church supported them for the sake of more votes in the ballot box, but second-wave feminism wanted to break up the traditional family dynamic Christianity supports, and third-wave feminism took everything from the previous generation and made it even more extreme, going so far as to attack art that depicts women as sexy/beautiful, saying that it conforms to a sexist way of looking at women, and of course, butting heads with religion over the place of the woman, not only in the household, but in society at large. And many third-wave feminists are Marxists, which usually denote that they're atheists who don't believe in religion and see it all as the "opiate of the masses."

Linkara doesn't know what the hell he talks about when he self-identifies as a feminist AND as a Christian. That's like saying you're an godly atheist, or an alcoholic Muslim. If he actually took a good look at the feminists in the past 10 years, he should realize that no good Christian would get involved with them, let alone work with them.

Good grief. The angry atheist phase is stupid for even semi rational people.

There are a lot of things you can be genuinely upset about regarding organized religion but its not healthy to be angry all the time.

Typically the angry atheist comes in two varieties. Not to say there's no others, but the ones I've run into tend to fall into these groups.

1. Someone that has just gotten out of religion and is desperate to tell everybody about how smart they are.
2. Someone that has a legitimate beef not with religion as a whole but the religion they grew up with, like they were raped by a priest and the church just blew it off.

Lewis is of the third type. The one that because of the situation he finds himself in, moves in that direction. In other words if he were to find himself hanging out with a group of atheists and they were a big influence on him, he'd change his stripes and join them. I doubt very much he'd become vocal about it but he'd be willing to argue it online, possibly under a different screen name. It doesn't pay to alienate your audience when a lot of them are religious to one degree or another.

Remember those lectures he wrote on Irate Gamer sucks about how Chris Bores doesn't understand the nuance and storytelling of inter-review skits?

It's amazing how lame the Pixel Demon truly was. You know, you don't NEED special effects or sprites or hell even a good look for a villain if you can capture mood, atmosphere, and properly set up a villain. In the same amount of time it took Bores to make this episode, I set up the Entity - showed how nigh-invincible it was, building up mythos around it, letting creepy music establish the mood, have characters plucked out with just a snap, and then the ending reveal? The most advanced effects with it were basic After Effects masking tools and static. The fans helped, too, just by letting them post creepy messages purportedly by the Entity - letting them speculate what was real and what wasn't - cryptic statements, creepy wordplay, other names and mythology based around this unstoppable horror. And even when I brought up a sillier part of the Entity's nature, the other horror elements more than made up for it so it was kind of irrelevant or just built up NEW terrors around it.
