I was working the Wendy's drive thru earlier in the year and this old man came up and I was going to collect his cash.
He had some of the most mangled fingers I have ever seen. The fact that he was holding dollar bills in them (or what was left of them) was just as disturbing.
I can't even really describe what they look like, but I felt so bad for him because I'm sure he had to deal with people being freaked out by his fingers all the time. I did my best to maintain a steady smile when I said "thank you, have a great day" to him and I never saw him again.
I couldn't get the image of his fingers out of my head for a good hour.
