That's the funniest part about left wing Americans holding up the Scandinavian model as an example of socialism working. The reason the social democracy model works in those places is because it's explicitly not socialist. It starts and stops at a strong social safety net and worker focused legal protections. Not an autistic worker owned command economy that these retards are convinced would usher in utopia.

Far leftists loved Venezuela for the first few years under Chavez. They loved the Soviet Union and Maoist China from the 60's all through the 80's. They even loved the Khmer Rouge until the Cambodian-Vietnamese War led to the genocide in that country getting exposed.
