Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

I guess I should offer a comparison, here's the PS4 Ryza trailer intended for Europe and Asia.

same time point, and notice how none of the spell effects blow out the UI.

Now the spell casting animation goes from green to white. While the US trailer they try to make the spell effect all green.
What exactly are people saying is being censored? You can't see shit in either of these screenshots

In a brief moment before the spell is cast you see some upper side thigh. With the post production effect filter applied it blurrs it

Now you see that cloud of dust is also a video post production effect but it doesn't overlap the In game UI as much as the Green Blast that happens just a second later. Those effects are not generated by the game itself and those are all from video editing software.

The xbox360/ps3/wii and wiiu/switch/xbone/ps4 generations had tons of utterly boring, overly tedious games and the fun factor took a huge dive. I used to think the ps2/xbox/gamecube generation was boring but in comparison to what came next (and the perverse effects of modern mobile gaming that trickled down onto those two generations), I find myself missing the ps2/xbox/gamecube gen.

Game Boy Advance > Nintendo DS

Games are getting so realistic that they're becoming boring to look at.

Senran Kagura PBS was a bunch of lost potential, it could have been a fun tiddy game if it didn't rely on matchmaking, make you able to run dedicated servers and maybe even make your own tiddy ninja.
Senran 7 Never Ever.

If they wanted to improve Senran kagura they should have taken shit from metal gear Rising.

Battle gets interrupted when you strip a piece of clothing off anyways, what's the difference if you get bullet time to slash your opponent's clothes off in an intricate fashion just like how Raiden cuts down people?

Like that's a niche they could have filled, overly detailed hack and slash abilities with giving the player lots of freedom to destroy shit as they like. You don't need that shitty dynasty warriors gameplay and the stealth gameplay would have fit the whole Ninja thing entirely.

The Nintendo 64 is the most overrated console ever. I understand some of the games were revolutionary at the time but the Saturn and PS1 blow it out of the water. It has a small library and I always see everyone talk about the same 7-10 games for the system. Mario 64, OOT, Banjo, etc. Those games are great and all but I feel like the library is really lacking when it comes to third-party support and other genres like RPGs. I don't really see how anyone can say it's better than the Gamecube or SNES, or that it's Nintendo's "best" system.

I think the RE3 Remake is alright.

The main problem with the N64, aside from the controller, is that most of its games have aged like milk in the sun. One of the best games to play today is Doom 64, which is ironic as it was criticised for being outdated when it was first released.

RE3R was fun whilst it lasted, it's just that it was criminally short and such a waste of potential. I'm terrible at speedrunning but even I did it in a little over 90 minutes.

FPS were fine before Half-Life
RTS were fine before Starcraft
MMOs were fine before World of Warcraft

Anyone who acts like any game from these genres before 1998 or 2004 were "unplayable arcade mess" needs to go back to /r/gaming
I'd argue that the golden age of vidya was up until 2004, at least on the technical level. In a 10 year period from 1994 we went from Doom2 to Half-Life 2. We got Crysis in 2007 that wowed everyone and now we got a full scale AAA VR title in the form of Half Life: Alyx which was an excellent experience (then again I only got to play the first 2-3 hours) and nobody cares. Releasing it sandwitched between Doom Eternal and Mount and Blade: Bannerlord probably didn't help but still.

I've been giving Divinity Original Sin 2 another go and it just feels so meh to me. It feels like once you get teleport the game feels broke . Also hate how easy it is to stunlock enemies. Either just use rain and shock'em or use battering ram.

I think Bioshock Infinite is awful.
As someone who used to defend the game not long after release, yes, it is awful.

From what I remember seeing in videos, the game was supposed to be a lot more open and involved a bit of social stealth. That didn't happen.

And I was always a bit annoyed at how enemies straight up ignored Elizabeth. Like, I know escort missions can be annoying, but she's Comstock's daughter and probably the most important person in Columbia. You have games like ICO and RE4 which are considered classics, and both those games involve escorting someone and facing real consequences for failing to do so.

Imagine some of the cool and interesting scenarios involving the enemies having to hold their fire or try and use special tactics to separate you from Elizabeth in order to full on attack you.

Anyway, I've been playing a lot of L4D2 lately with the recent update. And as much as I love the original survivors, I have grown a bit more partial towards 2's survivors.

Maybe it's because 2 had more of a structured story spread across five campaigns whereas 1's campaigns were isolated "What if?" scenarios, which led to the group bonding naturally over time, maybe it's because of the cut dialogue being re-implemented into the game or whatever. But I just genuinely prefer them in some ways to 1's cast.

I even grew to appreciate Rochelle more. A lot of the cut dialogue fleshes her character out a bit more and even before then she played a pretty good straight man to the rest of the group.

The only thing I remember about Bioshock Infinite was how shockingly short it was for a AAA game.

I finished it in like four hours. Maybe a little less?

Early on it is easy to just stun enemies, but it does become a bit more difficult as enemies typically scale faster especially in the mid game. Teleport is actually that broken, though other exploits exist, but teleport is the first one you get for most combat. Divinity 2 is not a difficult game, it has a lot going on but it has a lot of exploitable mechanics if you know where to look. It is more about making a class fantasy and seeing it come together due to the wide variety of abilities and the low-ish difficulty lets you get away with running more "cool" then "optimal" combos. I like melee fire staff mages for example because of the funny chain reaction of explosions that a staff swing can cause with sparking swings.

Also if you're playing lone wolf, with one or two party members, that makes the game dramatically easier so try using a full party if that is your issue unless you like feeling broken.
