Netflix, Inc. indicted by grand jury in Tyler Co., Tx for promoting material in Cuties film

About that whole "trying to push a message" thing...

Ever seen old novels that were basically porn about teenagers fucking, lesbians seducing straight women, Satanic sex cults, and everything else that made the good uptight folk of the day clutch their pearls briefly before eagerly turning the page? Every single one of those books got away with it by framing it as a "cautionary tale" or "horrifying descent into evil" or something like that. Every single one very loudly proclaimed that the only reason they were selling you twenty chapters of filth was that so you could be duly warned and horrified by said filth.

So let's just say that making socially unacceptable porn under the excuse that you're actually protesting against the things in that porn is not exactly the most original idea in the world, and that if you're actually aware of the trend it becomes rather transparent.
The problem is how they try to push it.

The main issue here is how the children are sexualized. It's one thing to see them get on stage, twerk and strut their stuff. It's another thing entirely for the camera to practically zoom into their bodies when they do so. The first example can show that this is not a good thing that we allow these kinds of "talent" shows to have young girls doing sexually evocative moves. Show the seedy side of the business. Show the pedos that are lusting after these young girls. Show the danger that can come of this. That's a good thing to shine the light on these cockroaches and have them scramble away to the darkness. And if it wasn't for the camera angles to be straight up porn I would have little issue with this movie. But because of the outcry and the desire to see what all the fuss was about I did watch it and I was disgusted by it.

Yes art is subjective and there's been times that porn has been made under the guise of "art". But anything like this involving children shouldn't be allowed to be made.

the whole message thing was a terrible excuse, they tried to pass it off as trying to find a middle ground from islam to mass media exploitation of children by exploiting children on screen sexually. no, youre just engaging in exploiting kids sexually while trying to assuage guilt.
Oh I agree it was an excuse because they could have made a movie with that message and not have it be virtual child porn.

theres japan though, and iirc aoc in germany is 15. really ww2 was nothing but a bunch of pedophiles bombing each other.

The whole AOC in Japan is a rather long and thorny path. Long story short AOC is 18 but anything else gets really messy. It's all about so long as you're not more than three years older, if you're a man or a woman and if there's no actual penetration then it can be a misdemeanor or it could just be a slap on the wrist.

Long story short, Japan is pretty fucked up all things considered.

Is Netflix at all freaking out at this point? If this shit goes viral or escalates that's going to eviscerate shareholder confidence and plummet their financial record come October 20th. All they have to do is take it down and admit it was a disgusting mistake, but they're so adamantly willing to die on a hill and it's mind blowing to me.

Found this:

>Netflix gave a statement to NBC News Tuesday regarding the indictment.
>"'Cuties' is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children," the statement said. "This charge is without merit and we stand by the film."

Guessing they feel confident that if it goes to court they'll win out. Hopefully this actually goes somewhere.

Allegedly, they had on-set children psychologists who would "check" on the kids' mental health in between each scene. That shit is quite telling in my opinion.
What kind of parent would let their kids star in a film in which they will need a psychologist?

You hit the nail on the head dude. My gf and I decided to watch cuties to see what the hubub was all about, surely it can't be THAT bad! No, the camera operators practically fucking run to get close ups of the girls hoohas and star fish. Also, if you want to argue that the movie is against the sexualization of children, maybe don't make the one teaching the children to be sexual another fucking 11 year old. There is no underlying message to this movie, it's pure pedo bait and that's it.

Also, I noticed a couple people speculating about a child bearing a tiddy, as far as I remember it was what appeared to be an of age girl on a different dance team. If I'm wrong, I wont be surprised, spent most of the movie staring at my lady in sheer disbelief lol.

That's probably an uphill criminal case and Netflix has the money to fight it. I'd be curious to see the followup there is because that's where the rubber hits the road.

At this point all we've proved the film is a ham sandwich, which is a start.

I'm pretty sure that's actually the Texas CP "possession and promotion" statute.
b requires 1, 2, and 3 to be proved for it to apply.

Edit: I agree with you about obscenity laws in general, but this isn't it I don't think.
Also inlined the law as written.
(b) A person commits an offense if the person knowingly possesses, accesses with intent to view, or promotes visual material that:

(1) depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of an unclothed, partially clothed, or clothed child who is younger than 18 years of age at the time the visual material was created;
(2) appeals to the prurient interest in sex; and
(3) has no serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.
Can't they split it up?
If I take 1 minute of hardcore child pornography and splice it into 59 minutes of documentary about child sex trafficking, I don't have 60 minutes of edgy documentary, I have 59 minutes of documentary and 1 minute of porn.
The scenes with the crotch shots don't have much serious artistic value.

You're right on that because France has a long and dubious history with pedophilia and I can give you a bit more info in that front if you want.

It stems from "Mai 68" which a pseudo revolution made by woke students and writers/philosophers.
They were against prohibiding anything and very open mentaly and sexualy.

Thoses peoples are the teachers/politician/directors of today.
You can find a lot of spicy clips from very important politician saying things like: a kid discovering sexuality with an adult is a great thing, we tend to treat pedophiles too badly etc.

In adition, most well known serial pedos in France were linked to childrens trade networks.
It's a problem deeply rooted in French Society and you can find very disgusting shit if you go back some years ago.
Like a canadian journalist that was dogpilled by the media 30 years ago because she critisized a pedo apologist.

Like that pedophile song that French guy did with his daughter Lemon Incest, so creepy! Look it up on YouTube, and it was a hit even in America I believe so gross!!!

Also Japan has “junior idols” which is creepy as fuck. It is a young girl, fully wearing clothing but modeling like a whore.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: Netflix has fuck you money- as in "fuck you, I do what I want and no court can stop me" money. They'll shell out a few million, but nothing substantial will change.
Disagree here. If it passed a grand jury trial that means the prosecutor already did the leg work to justify a case. And if the grand jury has decided based on the prosecutors evidence a crime has been committed theres most likely going to be some sort of trial.

Now what happens in that trial I have no idea. I'm fairly certain Cuties breaks CP laws based on what I've read about the content in the film. Netflix might settle which would suck, but if they get off I've already said I want it publicly known the law is saying CP is OK and let normies realize how far gone we are. I dont think that will happen. I think the get convicted based on CP definitions.

Besides the trial, netflix has lost several billion in stock evaluation this year alone. Partly due to Cuties. That was before the indictment happened. They aren't in the best financial shape that everyone assumes they are so having to spend several million in lawyer fees for a case like this is going to hurt them more than people think.

While you're at it, be sure to save some funds for the child actresses' future therapy bills

They're gonna fucking need it for a long time
That won't happen unless they also sue the crew and director of the film, which considering they're in France, is going to be hard unless they either find a way to convict them from the US, or they cooperate with French law enforcement.

Though i kind of want to see the US try to sue the filmmakers themselves, because fuck the French.

If Netflix haven't done so already, they need to make a documentary about the Streisand Effect, and then immediately view it and absorb its cautionary message.

Any action that drags out the Cuties fiasco, broadens mainstream public exposure to the film. I am going to make the assumption that, outside of the usual pockets of degeneracy, the overall response to a movie that claims to comment on the gratuitous sexualisation of children, by gratuitously sexualising its underage cast, is not going to be greeted favourably. Furthermore, the longer this goes on, the greater the risk of a cast member commenting unfavourably on the production of the film. Heaven help the producers if any of the audition footage leaks.

Netflix have decided that the hill they want to die on is the flat chest of a barely pubescent young girl, but I wonder how the Obamas feel about having their names associated with the birthplace of nonce-wave cinema?

The only winning strategy is to follow George Lucas's example and admit that you may have gone too far in a few places.

So is it now every American's right to stroke their genital of choice to soft core CP?

Look I know us lot in Britain are cucked af but that's something even we might have a problem with

Yeah fucking right. You faggots are the ones who keep coddling Jon Venables. Child molesters are a protected class in your shithole country.

On topic: I know this probably won't hurt pedoflix financially, but hopefully it will set a precedence that most people are still normal and sane and find this shit reprehensible, despite leftist screeching.
