Infected Euphoric atheists

The irony and lack of self awareness is mind numbing.

I've noticed a lot of the old guard of edgy male atheists are kinda self-conscious about being lumped in with that crowd now, or they've moved on from "militant atheism" to taking one hard left/right position or another in the latest social/race issue du jour.

But then I see all these women on twitter acting like they're revolutionary for posting basic atheist memes that even reddit would make fun of these days. I don't wanna make this a gender thing, but I never noticed many women caring one way or the other about atheism back in the day.

It's like angry very-online women just get the half-eaten 10 year old leftovers of what angry very-online guys used to circlejerk about

They're still assmad the first attempt at starting a gamergate type thing was Atheism+ and the atheists told them to fuck off when they said "but if you're an atheist you have to believe in communist bullshit too and worship Marx like the God you don't believe in!"

More REEEEEing censorship. SSDD.
These people are fucking evil. It's a small storybook toy probably put there at the bequest of some religious investors, but that's somehow the same as establishing a theocracy because letting Christians exist in public is a violation of these bastard's "right" to be the only acceptable public religion.

All of those names are English translations of Hebrew and Greek names, both of which were incredibly common in Roman Judea. In spite of what Muslims would claim, the Middle East wasn't always composed of people who were all named Mohammad.
Nailed it with the names. The Romans would no doubt have the names translated to their tongue and the like since the region was ruled by them. Trying to go "checkmate" on the naming is pretty exceptional.

The apostles had not just Hebrew but Latin names. For instance, the name of Peter (Petrus) was Simon (Shi'mon) in Hebrew. Jesus even made a pun about Peter's name, telling him "you are the rock upon which I build my church," i.e. "tu es Petrus." This is also why he is sometimes called "Simon Peter."

It's embarrassing when people try idiotic gotchas like this that a second of thought would tell them are just pure stupidity.

For those wondering, the response to that is that Yeshua found people named Cephas (renamed Petros as his rock), Yochanan, Yakob (renamed to Iacomus in latin), Mattiyahu, Andreas, Phillipos, Taoma, and Cephas again.

But then that's just doing very basic research that this brainlet should've done if they really want to pretend they're smart.

The best for this brainlet is hoping people don't retort with the claim that names can come in different languages and can be used in another language with some adjustment, along with how the Romans did have some occupation of Judea and all. This also reminds me with the attempt at saying how the days of the week are all named after Norse deities. Sure one can acknowledge that but then again, that's the English language when one looks at that, look into French or Spanish and shit's gonna be different. All one needs is seeing other dumb gotcha's these euphorics can come up with.

One thing we’ve also forgot is that those names are so prominent in the Christian world because of their biblical origin. Naming children after saints has been a tradition for a long time, and Catholicism was a very good way to spread words and names into new languages.

If they want people to leave them alone, maybe just leave a sign and perhaps they'll be left alone.

I find it ironic that the strawman Christian looks a lot more like a typical atheist, the only thing he's missing is the ugly beard. They always have beards and it's so repulsive and unappealing.
Don't forget a fedora. If they really wanted they guy to look like a Christian, they should of aged him up and put him in a long-sleeve button up with a tie

Or at least dressed him up like a stereotypical redneck if they wanted to go for a more coherent strawman in their tweet.

For a bunch of self-proclaimed intellectuals who love science and logic, they can't even get their stereotypes right

Surprisingly the fedora's becoming rare among atheists because the woke crowd hates that hat as well, but the beards are still very much a thing. Soy leftists always have the ugly beard and they all seem to be atheistic as well.
