Children do not understand gender, especially because gender is a bullshit idea.
They see Men and Woman not the "feelings" that are suppose to be part of that, but because children are fucking stupid and gender is just imagination it's easy to groom them with the idea of it.

Autistic kids especially don't understand it, because they don't absorb all the subtle social cues as easily as other kids. There's pressure on all kids to conform to the gender stereotypes assigned to their sex, but it goes right over autistics' heads. Well, I've said it before, but I have an older sister and whenever I hear people say "I knew I was trans at age X because I only played with things of the opposite gender" I tend to think back how I at that age only played with "girly" things mostly because my older sibling was the one who dictated about what we played with; it wasn't really until I got into school and started socialising with other boys that my interests started changing. I think that's a fairly common dynamic in sibling relationships and I imagine with Ari being six (?) years older than Jazz probably made her see Jazz as her own little doll/plaything. Normal reasonable people probably wouldn't read too much into Jazz being interested in girly things due to having an older sister.

We're lucky enough to not have batshit insane munchie moms, trying to turn us into some new wave social experiment projects. I played with ninja turtles and wrestling figures with my friends and my male friends and cousins would play Pretty Pretty Princess with me and other girls and they're all normal adults now with wives and children of their own.

For the youngins (or dudes) who might not know, Pretty Pretty Princess was like a board game. The point was to be the first one to collect all the jewelry pieces of your chosen color. If you won you got the crown. The games with the boys were quite competitive. They could probably rebrand it as "Bling Kings" and sell it to urban children these days.

Either way, you still shouldn't castrate your children because of the toys they play with.

Either that, or they saw how much their mum was scrutinised for her looks and body in the press and on social media everywhere. Abigail Shrier was saying on JRE how girls are under so much pressure and they see how female celebrities get dragged for not looking perfect all the time and pick up on the expectations on women and teenage girls. Bad enough for kids of non-famous parents, but even worse if that's your mum being subjected to that, and you're expected to grow up to be in the same situation. I can see why they might not want any part of that even without their mum grooming them. Though it probably does play a part, god knows there's enough celebs trooning out their young children.

Idk, without actually knowing the specifics of the situation I feel like Jolie handled it pretty well. From what I know, “John” was a phase and she now goes by her given name Shiloh and is just simply GNC. Jolie didn’t try to troon her out and never insisted her pronouns were male or anything. She just humored her and the kid grew out of it.

agree with pretty much everything, but I still feel sad for Jazz. Jazz is like a profoundly disabled child who is destined to spend their whole life with mum. Jazz’s siblings (and even Noelle) will get to choose their adult pathways, make their own mistakes, have relationships (perhaps shit ones, but even those can sometimes make you feel alive for a while and teach you lessons about what you don’t want). Jazz is stunted, his only real relationship is doomed to be mommy and me forever and ever.

That's assuming that he outlives her. He may not due to several factors. I remember when I first saw the opposite sex's genitals. I thought it was an ugly growth. I changed my mind about the 'ugly' part after going through puberty.

A lot of this talk is reminding me of my mom who told me that my dad refused to be bathed with us as infants, because of one time when she planted my sister in the bath while he was in there, and she looked at it and went "eeww! poo-poo!". I think she also was about 2.

I can't really remember things like that myself, only when I was a kid and we did those weird games of 'I'll show you mine if you show me yours" with another kid who was my age. I guess I didn't really think much of it other than 'this is what boys have'.

I think the idea of a 2 year old explicitly talking about what genitals are like just screams indoctrination to me, especially with the grown-up words. "[Jazz] would say he wanted the vagina-fairy to come". Why does a 2 year old know what a vagina is? That doesn't seem right. Even as a female my mom would call that a "tuppence" (idk why) up until I was like 12. I always thought it was normal to use fluffy language to describe things to children, especially genitals. I can't imagine really young children saying "vagina/penis" instead of "willy/minnie", I think that would creep me out. It doesn't sit right.

After all, they're still in the process of potty training and can't be bothered to know the specifics of how boys and girls are different. If my three year old said the word "vagina" out loud, my first instinct would be to grill them on who taught them that word and then promptly investigate. They sure as hell wouldn't have read it, or heard it in their cartoons.
