That's the thing about the podcasts. They're kindof him aping the new move to livestream that other creators are doing. But they're also a chance for him to try to reshape his legacy.
Summary, though I can't recommend those Marvel reborn eps enough, Liefeld has a number of people who remember him fondly. That includes Reborn. The consensus of the Elite in comics has been that Heroes Reborn was an epic boondoggle that didn't do well and was canned. Liefeld intersperses some juicy behind the scenes drama such as Jim Lee's power play for Marvel EIC and Jeph Loeb wooing him with an alternative.
Basically his Avengers #1 is the best selling Avengers #1 of all time. All the heroes reborn titles sold well, even by the standards of the time ie the end of the speculator bubble. But Rob undermines his point by revealing the ridiculous compensation he and Jim Lee demanded in addition, including a signing bonus.

So, in summation. Rob is wrong that Heroes Reborn is a success, because they paid him and Jim Lee a ridiculous sum of money to sell millions of copies like he brags about doing in '92. He didn't and has been unable to do so since because X-Force didn't sell millions of copies to readers but to speculators who were leaving to baseball cards or whatever. He's right in that the underlying Heroes Reborn material is solid, really most of it is better than the stuff that preceded it, not a high bar.
So is Rob currently streaming or is he planning to? I've got to watch that shit if he is because that'll be awkward as fuck. His chat will be awesome to read from the trolling alone.

There is not one Comicsgate, there are at least three comicsgates.
There is the OG Comicsgate of comic book readers complaining about the lack of quality titles and bad social media etiquette by the creators. Capn Cammings, Englantine, YBZ, JSG are some of those comicsgaters.
YBZ and his tirades on radical identarian leftists (yeah, I know, he is not the most savy political person) brought in the Cosnervative CG, comic fans who wanted a political Right Wing comicbook industry. Edwin, Tim Lim, maybe Micah Curtis (even though his videos were too rambly to know exactly what he is about other than his cripling self-doubt and navel gazing) and probably WC. Razorfist and YoungRippa59 will probably jump in for the occasional video as well but they are not CG.
Then there is a number of grifters that came in for the money after seeing YBZ blowing up. (EVS, TUG come to mind). This is the third comicsgate.
Ofcourse, there is some overlap. Sweetcast and Doug Ernst were both into the OG and the rightwing CG. Yellow Flash started as OG and jumped on the grift side.
There are probably other CG tangents. I guess there is a stangate fraction, where it is all about personalities/movement within CG but I can only thing of Liam.
But overall, comicsgate is not one thing.

Do James Gunn and his pedo tweets coming to light matter here? IIRC Alan Horn even said Gunn would never work for Disney again. Until Gunn was rehired.
He's streamed before, in the last six months with at least one person I know of.

They do. As we find out more about how Hollywood works, Disney included, SJWs look like an afterthought. Even though I was deliberately being over the top on the similarities between Comicsgrift and Disney, they're similar in the most important ways: they aren't anything like the image they project, they play dirty, and they like to push certain agendas..

I was watching Comic Perch video about Wizard and how it was a marketing magazine and publishers never leanred to market because of it, they just moved their marketing to CBR and BC.
And I got this tinfoil hat theory:
1) Youtubers were about to become the marketing arm for publishers.
2) CBR and BC and the rest of the websites are pissy about it, like most media sites throwing hit pieces on youtubers.
- Meanwhile, comics sites suck up to publishers and creators suck up to websites to prop them up and market their works to readers.
3) Here comes YBZ: A rising youtuber that is too fucking dumb to read the room and suck up to publishers and editors
4) Publisers being run by fucking morons at sub-poverty wages are unable to send the guy an email, offer him to send him comics he might like for reviews and throw him a bone that maybe he gets to write for them someday so he shuts up and get with the program.
5) The moment YBZ says something stupid, websites and editors trying to save their $20000 a year career jump and call him a racist.
So yeah, comicsgate is about fans and the press having a slapfight with grifters coming in to make some bucks. And also the fucking industry being so incapable of dealing with any sort of public relationships and marketing competence that they are throwing kerozene to the fire hoping it will all burn out eventually.
