Yea, but, BMI and all those in-vogue factors miss out on at least one important variable... Are you going to go into diabetic shock/coma, will you stroke/seizure out? Unanswered by the the people that sell the lifestyle.

I was dying laughing every time he got to the budget screen at the end of the workday and it read:
  • Savings: $30
  • Salary: $30
  • Living Expenses: $-50
  • Remaining: $10
and Phil would loudly say "Oh cool! I made $10 today!" No Phil, you LOST $20 that day you fat idiot. He kept doing it too. Like he would fuck up the job a bunch and get fined, and then when the budget screen came up he'd be relieved that "At least I still made $5"

He's spending more than his income and thinks because he didn't spend his entire savings that day that he made a profit.

I do subscribe the the idea that corporal punishment is an OK idea in some contexts, but DaddyOf5 crossed the line. Wasn't just physical abuse either.

Why the hell do people say DSP was once funny or had good playthroughs? God damn people are fucking retarded. It's the exact same cringe "comedy" he does now. He just doesn't say gamer words now, that's the only difference. Watching TIHYDP Heavy Rain (original run) and it's just retarded attempts at being MST3K while failing at video games.

I'm sorry to say a very long time ago I started out as an unironic fan of phil's playthroughs. Specifically his WET series. Back then he wasn't doing it for money or begging at all. He was always an ahole but in those times he was at least not bothering to hide his true self as much and actually playing because he wanted to and before he got tired of it all and his schtick got stale. That all came together to make something that while not Mozart was entertaining in its own stupid way I guess.

I'm a bit of a fan of asshole unPC humor even if its dumb humor and thats more along the lines of what DSP was before he became all uptight and started censoring himself to protect his dollardoos.

Either he's a thin skinned bitch or happy with how much he makes because he could easily double it overnight. It's has advanced enough filters now that nobody can sneak some nick gurrs in, there's zero chance of getting banned.

He was never funny and I was never a fan, but from watching his older videos he did seem more like himself.
Chat has ruined him in more ways than one. His demeanor used to be more relaxed when making jokes, now he's hyper aware of the audience watching him which makes him more self conscious. It's the difference between trying to be funny and trying to have fun.
If I was drinking beers playing games with my buddy and he yelled "CHINKY CHANG CHARLY WANG shut the fuck up!" at the screen I'd probably laugh. If he was dancing, y-posing, and singing along to the music I'd leave.

Agreed that chat ruined DSP; he was never more unintentionally funny than when he was genuinely raging at a video game. That said, I also think a key reason why his flailing attempts at humor never landed is that he has the charisma of a dead snail. A mediocre joke can be made funny with the right execution. Timing, inflection, verbiage; these things are important to making a joke land, and you can't teach them. You pick some of it up from observation and then for the rest you make it your own. Performing for an audience is an art that needs to be honed and Phil couldn't tell you what a grindstone looked like if you put a gun to his head.

As a side note I think this is what gives streaming a bad name to some people, including myself. It's not as though it doesn't require any talent as compared to other forms of live entertainment, it's just that the barrier of entry is so low that speds like DSP clear it easily and finding someone who's good at it is wading through chaff to find wheat.
