Agreed, most terfs motivating beef with the trans seems to be simply that they've somehow knocked the 'womxns' off the top of the oppression stack and they're a bit peeved at this.

In the US at least, women's reproductive health laws are constantly being fought over in politics, with conservaties usually the ones trying to damage them. While consevates do take the very repectable position of telling trannies to fuck off, I imagine for terfs, losing access to stuff like birth control and abortion is not a worthy trade off.
They're stuck between a rock and a hard place politically, vote for the party that will protect you from troons but control your reproductive health, or the party that will protect your reproductive rights, but force you to let trannies into your spaces as well.

I'm not American, so I'm the first to admit ignorance on American laws. It's almost impossible to get fact-based news about anything these days because MSM is filled with Trump scare-mongering hysteria. But a quick google says abortion is still legal, though might vary from state to state. Regardless, Terves have to isolate a threat, and defeat that threat. They have to pick their battles. The troon menace is completely beatable at this point.
I'd imagine abolishing the very category of "woman/female" will create a domino effect that will be felt in just about every facet of women's rights. If you can't even speak about female issues independent of lunatic trannies out loud or in print w/o being called a bigot, what will happen to female health care? If goblin male rapists/murderers are being placed in female prisons, their crimes allocated to female crimes, what will the fallout of that be? If perverts can invade every girls change room, or lie next to your daughter in a hospital ward, what then?
Abortion will no longer be a "woman's rights" issue. It will be some hodge-podge clown issue where there's a smokescreen of woke purity police correcting everyone's speech and ideas, ensuring that women are catered to last. People will just roll their eyes and give up.
Besides, the US isn't the only country in the world. Most other first world western countries aren't as insanely polarized politically. Voting for a party that doesn't entertain this shit in Canada, UK (if there is one), Australia etc etc won't be a vote for puritan Christian zealots. Most have a separation of church and state.
I'm team Terf here, I just want them to rethink their strategy.

Another term that has fallen out of favour is ‘drab’ as in the opposite of ‘drag’. The old-old British tranny clubs (the ones that banned HSTS because homosexuality was illegal) such a The Beaumont Society used to encourage men to come along in drab or ‘Bob mode’ and get changed on the premises.

This dissertation about troons in Manchester’s gay village (written in 2013) contains a reference to ‘Bob mode’.
