When I went to twitter, the top trend was a "news story" about the washington post disputing the veracity of the nyp story. They are making it seem confusing, as if "journalists at the washington post are objecting" is reason enough to disbelieve the story. I don't think it is going to work this time. if a smaller news outlet broke the story they would get away with it, but the new york post actually does okay despite still circulating a physical news paper.
