It just struck me...wouldn't it be so much easier for to have a "child" Instagram version and an "adult" Instagram version, kind of like with the Youtube Kids? It is just weird to me that it's a platform, where people of thirteen and up can access people of almost any other age. I feel the platform should be separated so that adults do not interact with children. I was thinking again about all this and just grimacing. Isn't "isolation" a common tactic used by domestic abusers in order to get their victims wholly dependent upon them? Piggy has, for all she's done to and with Desmond (and in the public eye no less), essentially isolated him from any and all forms of normalcy. We keep saying it's twisted and wrong to have him hanging out with actual murderers, strippers and other degenerates--and that's true, but it goes deeper than that. This isn't just some of the company she encourages him to keep. It is the only kind of company he seems able to keep.
At this point I question if Desmond would even know how to act around people who aren't like that, let alone his peers. These people, the grown men who dress up like literal gay satans, are his peers now by his mother's design, so much so that if she were to croak tomorrow I can only imagine Desmond would only go back to them for community.

Can't imagine what it would be like for Desmond to speak to regular boys his own age, to hang out with them and slowly realize the cross-dressed Truman Show his mother had been isolating him to all this time.
