The Starfire one as a drawing is at least cute, even if I think it’s pretty pointless and awkward to make what’s always been an alien with unnaturally colored orange skin more human-looking for virtue signal gold stars.

I think the Harley is unrecognizable without her signature colors, outfit and the 'Puddin' hair clip. Plus the arms seem...really thin. Her shoulders look like ball socket joints on an action figure.

Velma looks adorable in the last bit of pictures, although her hands look a bit tiny. I just don't understand why she has to be black. What does it add?

The tonedeafness is unbelievable. "Blackwash every character until it becomes inappropriate for the character to be black!" Like...maybe there's a reason people shouldn't just slap black skin on everything. Honestly whoever said a few pages ago that a black addams family should look more like voodoo NOLA-type goths rather than the traditional pale, vampirey goths, had the right idea.

I think that’s what gets to me the most about this particular trend: the sheer brazen laziness of it all. These artists clearly don’t care enough about these characters or "representation" to make any choices that feel creative or considered, and most can barely be bothered to do more than a palette swap with scribble hair, a (|) mouth, and identical pig noses. Because in the end the only thought going through their head while they’re drawing these race swaps is how high they can get off their own farts when the likes start rolling in.

Also, there's a certain artist on Tumblr, the one who drew that blacktober Melone and Bill that I posted a few pages back. I'm 90% sure the Melone they drew was traced from another artist's charms. I posted a comment trying to let people know about this, but the Tumblr artist deleted my comment. I also find it very ironic that they use the "drawingwhileblack" hashtag, despite the fact they copy and in a way, steal people's art. Nice to know they're keeping that stereotype alive.
