Also, does anyone know why Tumblr draws mouths like these? I've begun to notice it's a popular trend in a lot of SJW or just cutesy art styles.

You know, this one isn't so bad! The hand is jank as hell, but as far as "black Tina Belcher" this design isn't too awful. The fucking color scheme is what's really ruining this piece.

What is it with SJWs and making their art dark and murky, like it's being seen through a glass of beer? Why does everything have a yellowed tinge, why aren't there pure whites (or why are the off-whites so dark and dingy??) Is it supposed to be subversive like "I don't use pretty colors because Ugly Can Be Beautiful Too"? Is it supposed to be punk or edgy like kustom kulture?? Why would you draw something sweet and fluffy, or generally not meant to be repulsive, like it's punk or edgy? Is that the subversion It's like using cinnamon on a taco just because you discovered what cinnamon is.

Literally all you have to do is adjust the colors and it looks leaps and bounds better! The main color of this piece is pink, right? Emphasize the pink!!

I'm still convinced that the reason this is so common is because people make a finished drawing and just go in after it's done and lower the brightness on the character's hair and skin until it's just barely visible against the lineart. Every time there's something like this posted here, if you take it into Photoshop and lighten the skin and hair only, you can tell someone drew it that way before darkening it up in post. That's gotta be what everyone is doing.

Telepurte posted this and people went nuts. I'll let you guess why:

Idk of this is gonna work I'm on mobile

Edit: and I wish they would stop making Bakugo black as fuck. Why the dark nigga gotta be the angry one? Spare these children, they are only 16! And there are more hairstyles than A FADE AND DREADS! BE CREATIVE!

Incredibly easy: the use of "trap".
People also got pissed with Granblue Fantasy recently because the character Cagliostro (who is a feminine man) is based around laying traps for it's enemies. The company took a lot of heat for that and they had to state an apology because of it.

Doesn't Granblue Fantasy also have that big bearded guy whom everyone calls a woman or something?

Hey, i'm in that department as well, but we better stick to the topic at hand. We already have enough autism in our lives.

But when it comes to body deformities, it's usually the same and they tend them to depict those horribly bad. All the times i've seen stretch marks they always look like fresh wounds all over the midriff instead of what they should be. I know that body defects are displeasing, but for people that try to normalize those they make them look as horrible as they can.

As well, if you wanna dabble in body deformities, be it realistic or comical, you better have anatomy nailed down or the results will look weird as fuck.
I agree, especially since stuff like stretchmarks/ eczema/ pimples are probably the most common " flaws" that people will have yet they botch that down too lol. I don't think there worth the buzz they get on grounds on being thaaaat common ( and genuinely good looking people to average having 'em) and not harming health in anyway, so you'd think they'd show it as more then red squiggly lines lolol.
( To be fair I'm a firm believer that extremely simple and cartoony styles don't allow themselves to have this much detail on the bodies. More realistic styles seem to be more forgiving)

Cagliostro initially was a sick dying boy who invented alchemy that eventually transferred their soul to a female body who eventually has gone mad with power of immortality. Technically she has the same situation as Da Vinci in FGO where they basically manipulated their own bodies to be female as a means to transcend their genius abilities... so I don't honestly get why would they go up in arms on the word "trap" to describe... what Cag is actually doing in gameplay. She isn't really a trap...

Ladiva? Yeah. Her story is more "Born in the wrong body in a race with an extreme sexual dimorphism but instead uses that body to fight for love and justice". GBF honestly has better representation than some western media... the anime tropes are still a bit prevalent tho.

True on that. Realistic styles when it comes to body defects can handle them looking displeasing or being heavily detailed because you tend to be heavy on the details, specially if you do a close up piece. When it's a comical or cartoony style, they look odd and they usually make the drawing look weird. As you say, in cartoony style the drawing doesn't have to be that detailed and when you try to make things like scars or stretch marks in such a way, they end up looking bland or out of place.

Actually i thought cartoons were meant to be the opposite of realism or even stylized realism/ Semj realism-
Like stuff that are easy for pros to draw, especially over and over ( Since cartoons tend to go hand in hand with animation lolol)

Not only that but cartoons in general even avoid tattoos, scars and freckles; and when they do they get stylized into the ever so famous spots or those black lines with scratchs on top to imitate a scar-
So yeah not a great style for this nitty gritty details lol

And to not double post have some art
( Seven looks so masculine and washed down in this filter)

Damn, the jaw is what fucks it up. Way too broad as well as the chin that make that character look like either a very feminine man or a very masculine woman. If it wasn't for that detail, it would have been passable but with that there it just makes me confused
