For real though, they do genuinely want it to last forever. But not just as a global humiliation ritual. It's also a constant excuse to stay inside in their own bubbles right now. Permanent coof means they get to spend all day not actually working and instead arguing with people on social media about bullshit.

Fuck, I've grown up saying it and I've been trying to say it less because these fucks sucked all the fun out of a good "y'all".

At this point, sadly, if I see someone typing out "y'all", if I don't know them, it's like a red flag for "possible retard" for me.

Years ago I would just think "oh, they're probably a southerner. Okay. Cool." And then think nothing else of it. But now if I see it oncreen my mind goes straight to "...this person probably has their pronouns in their bio." They just up and took the word. I'm pretty sure they're not saying it to sound southern, though.

I think they're really intending to pull a bit of ebonics when they say it, even if they won't admit that themselves. Probably because when you put it like that, most people of their persuasion would consider it cultural appropriation.

I wouldn't go quite as far as that. The First took Jerusalem and held it nearly 100 years, and a good deal of other territory as well. I'd say the rest were an increasingly bad series of disasters.

'Folks' is used because they consider it not gender specific and vague enough to not exclude the genderspecials.
