Gabe's already stated numerous times he doesn't give a shit about the boys. We have evidence that he's attempted (& succeeded) to put them in harm's way as well as even going so far as to prevent his eldest son from seeking the help Gabe knows FROM EXPERIENCE that Damian will desperately need to further the boy's development. The only way he could've scored something like that is if Daddy Dearest had something to blackmail someone over into simply GIVING him a job. That or Gabe unintentionally just revealed that this is his monthly allowance from Daddy which I honestly suspect might be true now that I've thought about it.
