Hopefully the election puts the final nail in the coffin on these riots. Right now these people have the hope that by rioting they can somehow remove Trump from power. That they can push people into voting Biden in. Once that hope is gone, people will stop rioting unless they truly are deranged.
They are truly deranged. If Trump wins then they'll say that he rigged the election and they'll riot to get him removed from office.

It's going to be funny in a twisted way when the rioters try to buy necessary stuff, only to find their local stores have closed and moved because the riots encouraged them to do so.
The only stores that burned or closed are the ones in the hood, 90% of the rioters don't go anywhere near the hood and shop at Whole Foods. Sucks to be the jogger rioters who help burn and loot there though.

Weird. 3rd degree dismissed but not the harder to prove second degree murder charge? Looking forward to the youtube lawyers breaking that down.

Tonight is packed. The debate, the ballooning Biden scandal, and now riots throughout the country for St. Floyd's murderer being off the hook! Man, stay safe Minniapolis residents.

Gotta be in Nashville tonight. Fingers crossed to avoid being molotoved.

Antifags and BLM are quiet thus far in Minneapolis. It is freezing outside too, so I do not anticipate major riots. Maybe a march. The last BLM march downtown had about 30-40 people and things are fizzling out for now.

I figure that between Curious George Floyd and the Barrett thing, this weekend will be enthusiastic in many big cities. Maybe next weekend as well.

I never thought Mother Nature would be the one to stop a BLM/Antifa crusade. How you fail to back up your talk this badly?

Niggers aren't built to endure the cold, they like to get their rioting on best during hot weather. Makes them feel at home, whereas winter makes them want to stay at home. As for the antifags, maybe the democrats are panicking and trying to reign their attack dogs in? I bet there's a lot of really angry people out there pissed off their cities have been burned down and ransacked, and that's not mentioning the absolutely fuckery of 2020 between covid on top of the chimpouts. 2021 is going to be very interesting no matter who wins, but hopefully it's Trump. The salt from crying leftards will at least be a pleasant comfort.

When it comes to “attack dogs”, I get the feeling that Antifa sees themselves as nobody’s shock troops and they only have candidates they support. As for politicians, I think that’s a matter of not really supporting Antifa or being Antifa sympathizers, but they bring up politics and positions they can get behind, except the further it goes, their actions and stances isn’t something you can spin, and they know that Antifa isn’t really the thing you can treat like your personal tools because they won’t let you. Any anger can be blamed on “Trump existing and having supporters and enablers”.

Before I get a pile of "optimistic" ratings, I understand there will be a flare up of violence and rioting. But I doubt that the riots can be sustained through the winter. Also as COVID lockdowns get lifted people will start going back to whatever preoccupied them previously.
Maybe there will be a lull in activity around Christmas, but it will be back full swing in time for the inauguration.

I think this is the beginning of a new, turbulent era for America. In the past, Americans on each side of the isle had the same values and wanted to live in the same country, they just disagreed on what methods should be used to get there. People have become so irreconcilably divided that they now have values that are often diametrically opposed to one another and frankly, they want to live in completely different countries.

America's future is likely, in my opinion, going to be The Troubles in Northern Ireland on a much larger, more intense scale. 10+ years of protests, riots, domestic terrorism and war in the streets between paramilitary groups formed from civilians tired of feeling powerless. There will be an occasional, brief respite, but the war will rage on until a generation comes of age that is so war-weary, they refuse to participate and the conflict slowly fizzles out as the involved groups run out of manpower.

Also, leftists are all in the idea that Trump is a tyrant that needs to be ousted, so they’re also setting up “contingency plans” so Trump is on the way out in the event of a Biden win, or 2024/25 when Trump is termed out, along with the whole things about revolution and impeachment that they’re willing to go through and use like water.

Unlike Ireland, the US is massive. It's already two countries... if not five or six. Maybe I'm being :optimistic:, but here, the warring sides are geographically dispersed, even within states. Hate wokeness? Despise excessive religiosity? For both sides, the solution is simple: cross a state line, or move to the city/country. Your vibe is just a car or plane ride away.

The cities will be totally fucked, don't get me wrong. Avoid, avoid, avoid. But I can't imagine Troubles-level shit going down in a nation with so. much. damn. space. We will atomize, with even the Left/Right divide fracturing along ethnic and religious lines. Do the elite white leftists of New York and the Hispanic/indigenous communities of New Mexico and Arizona have anything in common, beyond voting D? Nope, and that chasm will only widen. The power of the "D" will be distributed and therefore diminished. Same with the "R."

...or we go full Balkans, lol.

I agree the size of the US will have a large effect and that the fighting won't be as ubiquitous in rural areas. That being said, moving away is a huge deal for most people and they won't do it unless they absolutely have to. Maybe it's different on the East Coast where the states are smaller, but at least in the West, an individual often needs to move hundreds of miles to be in a different one. It's not always a short car trip to get away, and if it was, you would want move farther out anyway because you would still be within or close to the conflict zone. Antifa members are going back and forth between Portland, Seattle and Minneapolis. Driving a town or two over is nothing for them. There is also the issue that people don't like leaving their friends and family behind to go live in a much smaller, more tightly knit town far away where they may have trouble fitting in. Country people are already weary of outsiders moving in from cities and the lack of trust towards strangers will only get worse as this conflict grows.

The US is big, but it's mostly empty. Most of the population is in or near cities, so most of the population will experience unrest. Even if there was a sudden, seamless population redistribution that resulted in every state being solid red or solid blue, people will go out of their way to participate in conflict happening in other areas (see the posts about Antifa moving operations into suburbs, Antifa traveling to other protests if nothing is going on near them, etc.).

I agree on the Democratic big tent strategy collapsing eventually when the party reaches a certain size.

Right now, I am not convinced that Balkanization will happen. There is not enough separatist sentiment from any of the groups involved in this conflict for something like that to happen. Generally, everyone living in the US wants to continue doing so, they just want it to be their ideal version governed by their people. This could change after the fighting gets more intense, but as of right now there are no serious separatist groups capable of swaying the conflict in that direction.

If I didn’t come here I would have no idea the riots even existed and I’m in a suburb of a large city in Florida. Nothing is happening that I can see or that anyone I know IRL can see.
You are honestly so lucky, where I am they're constantly shooting off fireworks and screaming at the top of their lungs while lighting shit on fire.
