Did the common man even know or care about Hitler back in the late 1930s-early 40s?

I wouldn't imagine they did much. The 'Hitler is the new Satan' thing came up mostly post war since the new founding myth of the west went from Adam and Eve to Muh Holocaust at that time thanks to (((certain group)))s taking power. Thus leading us to current year clown world we are all suffering through now.

Yes but we don't talk about it because a lot of people around the world were pretty cool with Hitler until he got a bit carried away with the land grabs. They don't teach that because the narrative quickly became "Hitler was really evil and murderous and for no reason at all he took a lot of land and then for no reason at all he rounded up a bunch of people and then for no reason at all he tried to conquer most of Europe and then for no reason at all..."
tl;dr hitler evil and that's all you need to know
You can find old newspaper clips from before WW2 where it was basically like "Man this Hitler guy is really busy trying to bring Germany back up to world power status".
Funny thing about trying to get back onto your feet and then you go a little too far and start one of the biggest wars to date that will have lasting effects 70+ years later.

Oh and genocide, don't forget that.

Just really quickly since I know there is already a Hunter thread, but in the "postgame" show on CNN, the talking head claimed something to the effect of "Trump is running the sleaziest campaign in American history and in the next several days YOUR GRANDPARENT'S FACEBOOK FEEDS will be filled with the most heinous disgusting Breitbart talking point lies even imaginable."

So that's how CNN is treating the Hunter story even now; they are all Breitbart lies made by a disgusting man like Trump.

Edit: Thanks to @GuntPunt for posting it in the Debate Thread.

It's pretty interesting because of how it's painted now, but back then most of the world was ok with letting Germany reclaim a bit of this and a bit of that. Then you go "omg how could they let this happen" while today the world didn't actually care about Crimea that much, they just pretended to. Just like with China.. Turkey... Syria... etc.

Anyway literally hitler got some good clips out of tonight so I'm a bit optimistic for the election.
No matter the results there are going to be unprecedented cries of fraud and I'm pretty much in the camp of "if Trump loses then they cheated", admittedly.

Yes Nate, I fully believe that (1) a CNN poll would be Republican skewed and (2) a so called Republican skewed poll would have Biden winning the debate tonight by 14 points. That sounds logical to me.

Biden got BTFO'd ... By himself.

Don't get me wrong, Trump had some fantastic soundbites from this debate ... But Biden kept hanging himself with his own rope. This is exactly what I had hoped to see in that first debate, to be honest.

I simply CANNOT see how any Biden supporter would feel good or confident about this debate performance, because holy freaking shit. It was an even worse debate performance than Kamala's, which is really saying something.

You know what? If Biden wins this election and if I were Hillary Clinton, I would put myself in a drunken rage (as she does) and call out HER OWN PARTY on sexism. Hillary was an infinitely better candidate than Joe Biden is; it's absolutely no question.

The west was also still very depressed after "The Great War" before WW1 jingoism was still hugely popular. The resulting millions of deaths and veterans that came home wounded with physical & emotional scars left the world at large sobered to the truth that that war was hell. The last thing people wanted was another War like that which is why Americans dabbled in isolationism & Chamberlain tried his best to avoid directly confronting Hitler.

From what I've read if it wasn't for Chamberlain buying time with Hitler the German machine could have potentially defeated the Brits. So Biden's Hitler comments feel especially immature.

Trump got 39%? He beat Pence's performance! Can we compare to the 2016 final debate poll from CNN?

1) Everything Trump says is a LIE. No matter what.

2) Because Democrats love fearmongering. CNN was praising Biden for his comments about empty kitchen tables and keeping everyone safe from COVID and how Trump REFUSED to respond to the racial inequities questions. CNN claimed Trump had no answer to the "what do you tell black families who are afraid?" "What about black families living near oil refineries?"

To be fair critizing CNN now at this stage of the game reminds me of FOX News defending how much of a shitter were Romney and McCain after the debates and their eventual losses.

CNN and MSNBC have achieved turning themselves into FOX News but don't have the style that comes with it. Whereas depending on if Trump wins or loses, FOX News becomes center left or populist right depending on Tucker stays or leaves.

But its not his fault, its Obama and the Republican Congress that stopped him from passing anything.
That long silence after that was hilarious then Trump saying, "you gotta talk to them Joe"

Seriously..."We had a republican congress." ...extremely long awkward silence... "that's the answer"
I started laughing out loud at that one.

Also my favorite tagline of the night:

After the Florida double today. Trump is pulling a triple on Saturday:

More shoring up North Carolina. You never know, you know?

Shoring up in Ohio just to be safe.
1603429619512.png

And Waukesha, Wisconsin just to rally up the folks who had to deal with that recent riot.

*Also, I'm pretty sure that Trump believes that Wisconsin might be his Rust Belt win condition. With Pennsylvania and Michigan looking pozzed, the former especially, where else to turn to? Hope he gets to Minnesota soon just to shock the Dems.

And on Sunday... New Hampshire still in play?

Even though Trump said PLENTY about helping the black community, and explained how he's already getting stuff done for them.

The fear mongering is despicable.

Biden: "If you're black, then your life sucks. You'll be executed if you walk out the door, basically. The only way to make you happy is welfare. Be thankful for the shitty house in your violent, needle-ridden, rat-infested neighborhoods, because you'll be dead otherwise"

Trump: "Black America needs help, so I have a plan that involves job opportunities, education, and community outreach that will help get them out of poverty. A plan to improve their quality of life and happiness, if you will."

If the former "plan" is more appealing to hear than the latter plan, then you are probably a miserable, nihilistic bootlicker.

That's why I don't get the overconfidence the Dems have in a Biden win, and Nate Zirconia predicting as 400+ EV landslide as the most likely outcome.

Biden is the worst Democratic nominee in over 30 years.

You know what's weird? Maybe this is rainbow, but I think COVID-19 is a positive for Trump now.

I think more Americans are getting sick of COVID-19 to the point where they hear Trump say open everything up and hear Biden say lock everything down, and they say "fuck that" to Biden.
Probably in communities like this. Definitely not among most old voters, and most teachers. It's why Biden was instructed to do the lame look at the camera thing and 'emotionally' say Drumpf killed 200000 a few times.

Biden is by and large the WORST Nominee running for POTUS that I have seen in my lifetime thus far. I don't know if I'll ever see a worse one. I'm dead serious.

Yes, I am aware that John McCain and Hillary Clinton exist, lol.
