Biden was Vice President for 8 years. If you asked me about a single thing he did in those 8 years, I would have no idea. Now to be fair to Biden, I have no idea what Mike Pence has done in 3 1/2 years either except bitch slap Kamala Harris last month. That could be a failure on me not paying attention.

I've learned more about what Biden did as VP in the last week than I did when he was actually in office for 8 years.

I'm a politics sperg, and the only things I could recall were stumping for Obamacare a bit, the debate with Paul Ryan, and getting involved with the Ukraine/Crimea issue. But I mostly blamed John Kerry for Ukraine, Joe seemed to be along for the ride and just there to make a statement that "the US takes this very seriously, Bad Russia, very naughty".

A lot of the machinations and bribe stuff that is coming out fits right in with what little we knew about the US involvement there. Ukraine was openly desperate to get the US on their side, they heavily miscalculated dealing with Putin and the EU at the time. But even as a nerd who keeps track of foreign policy, I had no idea Joe was involved this deeply. A lot of the corruption stuff on the Ukraine side was only coming to light during 2016, when we had certain other political happenings to distract us.
