General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

That tranny shark thing is hilarious, like its one thing having an obviously male voice but being vapid and boring is 10 times worse.

The people trying to say its a woman are delusional and anyone with a working set of ears knows.

Also Kagura Mea is based and I don't care if her toenails smell like natto.

EDIT: been seeing people say Artemis' singing on Twitch was more female sounding, what do you all think?

So, I discovered Alice Mononobe tonight, and being a massive fan of Alice In Wonderland, I immediately checked out a couple of her older streams. And was rewarded with this:.

I just randomly jumped in to hear singing “Shake It Off” lol.

Coattailing was literally how Artemis got so popular. That and a superbly rigged avatar.
Not to mention people were shilling the hell out of them in certain artist circles around Twitter. Artemis had their white knight brigade established well before they ever debuted.

In other vtuber related news, Ninomae Ina'nis' Half-Life 2 stream managed to grab the attention of a handful of noteworthy Half-Life 2 community figures with the likes of Jolly Wangcore, Rimmy, and DeSinc showing up in her chat. This, apparently, caused a massive shitstorm in her chat with people @'ing Jolly, Jolly responding to them, and Ina's fans losing their collective shit and rule policing the chat like crazy while also attacking Jolly both in chat and on social media to some extent (mostly screaming "RULE 3" and "RULE 4" and believing he was trying to steal attention away from Ina) to the point where he's stated that while he may show up for future streams of hers, he'll not be saying anything or making his presence known whatsoever. Ina herself even scolded chat a bit for their behavior when she was winding down to end the stream.

Tentacult's getting a bit crazy as it's growing, and it's not looking good.

The main problem with his voice is not his vocal range but how forced and cramped he sounds. He'd do much better if he would just let go and speak like a woman, instead of forcing himself to contort his voice into a "woman"-voice. But that would require effort to learn and a bit of practice which seems to be too much for most troons.

I do like Artemis' avatar, though. He does look like a trap, i.e. a feminine young man in female get-up, rather than a generic anime girl.

Honestly, if she's a woman, she should get her vocal chords fixed, she sounds like someone with a nasty cold.

Instead of the blatant gimmick infringement and risking Hololive corporate samurai lawyers knocking on her door, i wish... "she(?)" would have just gone with something unique.

If they're going to try and draw the tranny simpy brigade, go nuts and do an "onnagata" or "oyama" type gimmick. Go for broke, be original... but nah, why put effort into something when you don't really give a shit?

Just steal a gimmick and never bring up that certain someone more talented than you already rocks it, so you can bitch and moan when the chat inevitably calls out on it, then you can complain theyre not following the rules. UwU

This was discussed a bit elsewhere. The main problem with shit like this happening is the culture clash between western streaming personalities and audiences and the Japanese side. While in the West it's bad form to tell your chat not to have personal conversations among themselves and makes you look like a massive asshole when you do so (Hi Phil!) with the Japanese side of things, it really seems like they treat it as putting on a show for their audience and if their audience isn't engaging with them, they're not engaged by them which tends to be disheartening.

Basically, those 3 guys didn't know the rules of Japanese vtubers and thought they could treat it like Twitch. Honestly them getting a bunch of shit remarks from chat police is the worst part of this, considering Ina's own manager calling the entire audience out on its bullshit (in case anyone doesn't follow Ina, her manager is active in her chat, in character as The Ancient Ones or Ao-chan, represented by Ina's book) and that should have been the end of it. I'm pretty sure those 3 didn't mean any harm but the certainly incurred the wrath of a bunch of spergs. They might have just thought it was cool to see someone streaming HL2 for the first time with such high viewership and wanted to see what all the hooplah was about.

Meanwhile, Ame's backseating got so out of control she basically ended her Witcher stream entirely pissed at her chat and felt the need to apologize for snapping at them when they were demanding her to play Gwent.

Reeks of falsetto at high points. Off-pitch and off-beat.

Big if true, our very first MtF (English) Vtuber! I for one welcome the future horse-piss fueled meltdowns when he stops getting narc supply.

Also double confirmed for constant ego searching

If you really think this sounds like a female I suggest you listen to his voice without the video playing, our minds play stupid tricks on us, it's 100% a dude with a voice changer that sounds like shit + also attempting to falsetto at the same time, which causes him to sound like he put his voice through Audacity's change pitch option on 160%. Troon or not that's fucking pathetic.

He’s straining to hit notes beyond his falsetto range, which is making him miss beats and articulation.

I forgot to mention that testosterone and musicianship are directly correlated in both sexes. Did estrogen ruin his singing game?

I mean, they don't share their face or real voice or anything, so they could just as easily be someone faking being a tranny for e-clout. Trying to work a niche gimmick in a growing market isn't inconceivable, really.
