Where did this Gene hits Jen thing come from? They are two awful people, sure, but I haven’t seen behavior that makes me think he hits her. If it’s bruises-well, that’s plain ridiculous-show me a deathfat who isn’t covered in bruises and scratches. They all are.
Abusive men usually hurt women to make sure they have them to themselves. They isolate, take away finances, frighten them, accuse them of cheating, take away phones all to make sure they’ll never leave. Jen isn’t leaving-in fact, if Gin tried you’d see that wheelchair chasing after him.
Plenty of alcoholics aren’t abusive. Some get angry when drunk, but some get sad, or happy, or philosophical and talkative. (If I had to guess, I’d think Gene would start in on the state of mankind and God and shit to all the guys in the bar who just want to watch the game.)
From when I’ve seen, it’s Jen who is snippy, bossy and passive aggressive. Those types don’t usually attract abusers, but simps.
They are two self-absorbed, unpleasant people but I don’t think anybody is getting hit.
