I bet if Phil played WWE on stream he'd be as pahsitive as this all the time and wouldn't be such an unlikable shitbag
Honestly, if Phil wanted to commit full-time to streaming himself playing gacha games, I wouldn't even judge him anymore. It would at least make him 50% less abusive towards his own audience.

I mean, I'd still judge him for being a such a sad excuse for a man. I think he'd just become toxic in new ways. Like if he didn't have to hide that he was addicted to gambling on pixels I really think he would just use it as a way to get sympathy from his beta wheelchairs.

I couldn't help but notice how genuinely happy he was when he "pulled" something good during yesterday's Genshin Impact stream:

too bad he pulled arguably the worst 5 star in the game, he absolutely hates her voice, and is using her expecting her to be good without bothering to learn anything about the game, genshin is pretty simple mechanically but even with stream chat trying to hand hold him he either cant or just refuses to "get it"..

also all his pulls were trash, but hey $200 guarantees you a 5 star from the game's pity system lol.

If Phil had been honest from the start and made videos about anything other video games, maybe he would have less of a rep because gambling clearly keeps him calm while needing to actually be skilled at something very much does not, but he would still be a shithead. The instant someone disagrees with him about a wrestling storyline, the claws are coming out, guaranteed.

You can't fix Phil by keeping irritating stuff out of his field of view, you have to fix the fact that he over-reacts to begin with.

But Phil doesn't even watch wrestling anymore!

... You're still banned if you cheer spoilers at him though. Which I wish more people would do. If you're going to debase yourself by throwing pennies at him, at least ruin something he enjoys.

That's what makes his troll-tippers so idiotic, they're not even accomplishing anything most of the time. The best trolls of his are the ones smart enough to 1) avoid giving him money and 2) exploit his personality flaws. That's why I like watching evilAJ whoop his ass at Street Fighter, you can absolutely count on Phil to get pissed about his own lack of skill and take it out on someone else by saying all kinds of nasty things he's only willing to express because he's at home by himself.

I just watched a bit of Phil's Genshin stream today for the first time. It's the closest I've ever seen him be to a real streamer.
Not only does he know all the jargon (most of which is not actually used in the game), he clearly understands all of these gacha mechanics. He hasn't asked chat for help at all, outside of asking for some details about the characters and things.
Mild powerlevel, but I don't play these games, so I don't know any of this and my eyes glaze over during his pull segments... just like his eyes glaze over during explanations of normal game mechanics.
It's pretty clear that he has in depth knowledge and experience with gacha mechanics, and that he genuinely enjoys working through them.

The only reason this game is on stream is because it is a 'mainstream' gacha game on consoles, and because he can't play the one he really wants to play without exposing years of lies. An absolute pathetic state of affairs.

I would love to know when he discovered that gacha was his thing, because I get the feeling that it was after he started getting a rep on YouTube, and needed something to feel good about.

Regardless of when he became hooked, though, it's very clear now that I was wrong about it being a monkey on his back that he's too lazy and pathetic to even try getting rid of. He genuinely enjoys gacha as a hobby, and probably would even without so many memories in his head of being laughed at for sucking at real video games.

I would take back what I've said about how much of a loser this makes him, but I just can't because his enjoyment has still cost him at least $40k, he still has nothing to show for it, and he's still being a fraud. So fuck you, Phil. Idiot.

There's evidence for it starting somewhere in 2012 and ramping up throughout 2013, which makes sense as also around Fall 2013 he revealed that he had almost completely paid off the massive credit card debt he sank himself into after college.

Also the only reason we don't have footage of his early mobile gaming addiction is because he couldn't figure out how to film his phone or tablet with his camcorder and make it look good.

Timestamped @ 11m40s
Timestamped @ 48m13s 'I did sink money into them and I've been enjoying the hell out of them'

So before TIHYDP started to really ramp up the amount of mockery he was subject to. That's interesting, because it tells me that Phil's enjoyment of them doesn't have so much to do with it being a kind of sanctuary for him, a place where he can actually be good at something. Assuming, that is, that he didn't figure out his own incompetence at real video games before the internet did, which I personally think he did.

Our boy made top 50!

Given what we can see in his playing Genshin Impact, I have to imagine he looks at the Champions leaderboards these days with quite a sad expression, because with how strangely human he appears while indulging in gacha, this is more meaningful to him than I long thought. Which makes it even better that sweet deranged Nigel has ruined it for him, because we all know that Phil never learns what he should, and so the only thing anyone can salvage from him is laughing at his misery.

Should have been honest about your passions from the beginning, pigroach. You would still be an asshole, but at least then you wouldn't be as much of a target in spite of that fact.

Good to see those 600 dollars worth of tips yesterday went to a good cause. I wonder if the sperg that donated it actually thought DSP was gonna use it to improve his business, or even buy a console he should have had on lock from the moment it was announced.

Don't kid yourself, the whales tip entirely for selfish reasons. There's no altruistic aspect to it. They do it for the exposure and feeling it gives them, not Phil.

They only care about the narrative, not the real truth.

OUR BOY IS MOVIN' ON UP!
Those extra tips REALLY PAID OFF!
It's just heartwarming to know that even when he does get these huge rainfalls and incredible profitable streams he burns the money within literally 24 hours.

No matter how good things look, they just won't improve because of this. He actually has a legitimate addiction, and it won't get any better with age.
