The film describes the events leading up to, and including, the massacre of the adults of a small town in Nebraska by their children, after the adults' irresponsibility ruins the crop and the children's future.

New ‘Children of the Corn’ Movie Gets First Image, Poster Art and Very Limited Theatrical Release

Unbeknownst to us, it looks like Kurt Wimmer‘s new take on Stephen King‘s Children of the Corn, filmed with safety protocols in place during the pandemic, has already been released in theaters, arriving in *two* Sarasota, Florida locations over the weekend!

Brought to our attention by Club Stephen King and the Herald-Tribute, the film is currently playing at the CMX CinéBistro and Burns Court Cinema, both theaters located in Sarasota.

We even have a plot synopsis courtesy of the Sarasota Film Society, as well as poster art and a first-look image which both come courtesy of AtomTickets.com.

In Wimmer’s movie, which is said to have very little to do with King’s novel, “A psychopathic twelve-year-old girl in a small town in Nebraska recruits all the other children and goes on a bloody rampage, killing the corrupt adults and anyone else who opposes her. A bright high schooler who won’t go along with the plan, is the town’s only hope of survival.”

The new film’s cast includes Elena Kampouris (Before I Fall), Kate Moyer (“When Hope Calls”), Callan Mulvey (Avengers: Endgame) and Bruce Spence (The Road Warrior).

The plan here is to expand to more theaters in the coming weeks.

The original is "very okay", mostly because of Isaac...

They seem to want to paint the murderous children following Satan's orders as "not as bad" as the adults.

ETA: Also, I bet it's not that we're not getting Isaac and Malachai, we're getting them... as girls!

Didn't this get a remake in like 2017 or 2018 already?
It got one in 2009 which honestly wasn't that bad. It wasn't good, but it wasn't complete shit like how this movie will probably be.

So it’s just global warming propaganda.

Who's playing Greta Thunberg?

I can't even get mad about this. The original movie was Ok and it already has six or seven terrible direct to video sequels. This adaptation is just going to be another one to throw on the pile of crap.

The only way this could have worked is if they cast the actual children of the band Korn in starring roles. Have them do the soundtrack as well.
Have the band make cameos as corn stalks using their Korn Powers
