Sitrep on the Melbourne situation. Non essential retail stores have reopened and they've allowed restaurants and pubs to open but with a max capacity of 20 people. You are still only allowed to go 25km from your home, you are still not allowed to leave Melbourne, you are still required to wear a mask wherever you go. And yet people are celebrating as they've "come out of lockdown" and like this is a momentous occasion.

My sister recently came over to visit us because she lives within the 25km zone and I remember clearly when her and my dad carried some items to her car parked 20 metres down the street they both put on masks. The level of Stockholm syndrome people have developed is insane.

You know, it blows me away that to keep healthy we are being told to

-Maintain a sedentary lifestyle, which will no doubt increase our weights to unhealthy levels
-Stay indoors and unexposed to healthy vitamins from the sun
-Wear dirty and uneffective masks that most dont bother washing at all
-Desinfect everything 24/7, unaware or uncaring that this will affect our immunity system in the long term
-Create division among ourselves and see everyone who isnt exactly like you as an enemy

One day until impact, shelter still closed, Zeta restrengthed back to hurricane status, and family still wants to ride it out despite we are under hurricane watch. I'm at my wits end.
EDIT: I think I get their view. My phone got hurricane alerts while theirs didn't, and if they look up on the weather, all they see is that cloud with lighting on it for the day. No warning of a hurricane of their side. Our locations on our phones are the same. Wat?
Still think it's weird for them to just sit on their asses while they saw my car getting totaled by a falling tree, more trees falling on power lines, a bunch of houses destroyed by more trees and tornadoes last time.
EDIT 2: even weather channels show the threat of the hurricane right to their faces and they still refuse to budge. What else can I do at this point?
EDIT 3: "We can't evacuate because of Covid". Well, there it is. But still: Wat?

They made their choice and now DESERVE to suffer the consequences. If they dont, then not only will the idiot genes spread but they will get more reassurance that their way of life is the best.

Maybe we need a shit load of people to die because of Covid's restrictions before people start to maybe wonder if they are causing my problem than solving...
We fucking deserve it.

So most of Ohio is now red or orange. We already know they've been keeping counties at high levels while not listing an adequate number of indicators to justify it. Cuyahoga could go to purple tomorrow. Dewine was saying "if we don't fight this properly, we'll have to shut down".

I'm starting to get really blackpilled. It doesn't matter if Trump gets in or not. Electing him was putting a bandaid on a gushing wound. None of this is going away. They'll make it mandatory to get the covid vaccine to work or go into a store or anything. They're already saying masks will stay even with a vaccine. People will protest, a few will try to go after these fucking politicians, but for most people it will be all talk. There will be no revolt. Enjoy your pods, we're decades too late to stop it.

Edit: at least people are willing to mock this shit like r/ChurchofCOVID. But as far as family, friends, and coworkers who aren't sheep or doomers? I have my parents and one friend.

Minor update on situation: shelters still closed and parts of the state is slowly going under Hurricane Warning one by one. holy fucking shit its so creepy. and zeta is predicted to remain on hurricane strength upon landfall, so thats a double whammy to add insult to injury
the family still wants to stay put
"its just wind", "its just rain", "we're not evacuting because of covid", and so on
i'm rambling mostly out of extreme confusion and fear but its really fucking scary to see how wuflu fucked and screwed the majority of many people's priorities

EDIT: Schools are now starting to close now we got a warning, whats the fucking point of not doing it a day earlier to evacuate

I know people like to joke all the time that soldiers from WW 1 and 2 died for nothing but...I think there has never been a more fitting time in history to claim that.

They truly died for nothing. They died to maintain our freedoms and their children sold it all away for fake pennies that represent some imaginary worth of "security".

Its in moments like this I hope the afterlife doesnt allow you to see how things currently are or else your disappointment will make you wish to die all over again or to haunt the shit out of the world.

DeWine is using the "high incidence" thing as an extra metric but also a county can't move down from red or purple until they're not under 100 "cases" per 100k people. I don't think he ever explicitly said it, but if you go to the county dashboard it'll say as much if you hover over the high incidence text.

Add that to the case harvesting and I'm assuming the rolling of flu cases in COVID numbers and it's extremely blackpilling. At the risk of glowing, people need to hang for this as it could completely destroy public trust when there's a real pandemic.

I'm extremely proud of the Covid tan I've developed from being outside so much. Also running so much in gross Los Angeles air and going by bums and their literal/proverbial shit has probably strengthened my immune system just as growing up drinking Ganges water would.

Also I suggest the rest of you mask haters to switch to neck gaiters. I use my buff (100% made in Spain too) that I wear snowboarding and the best part is you can be passive aggressive as fuck about this bullshit, and let it fall down/play with it in stores. Also neck gaiters/Buff's have tons of other uses as well.

That implies that officials know anything about health and safety measures and aren't just ass-pulling random ideas that sound good for security theatre.

If an emotionally fragile manchild can get North Korea to stop tossing their missile tests over other countries with a twitter account and a hand from possibly the weirdest basketball player alive, Then emotionally fragile manchild it is. Maybe any president could have done the same if they'd picked up the phone but none of them did.

A failed misslie test that dropped a fueled upper stage on some town in Japan would have killed a big pile of people and might have kicked off a war. I'd kinda prefer that not happen.

I went to the dentist today and on the way I had to fill out a form that I am not sick nor have I came in contact with someone who is sick and I've been told that I had to give that to the doctor. The doctor told me to give it to her assistant and her assistant told me something along the lines of :"Oh god, I don't want that, get that thing away from me, you can keep it." Bureaucracy works and people take it very seriously.

Does anybody else get "Rabid queer" vibes from a lot of this thread?

Taking the piss out of mask wearers, it makes me think back to the AIDS epidemic.

These were the bull queers who just hated condoms and being told not to fuck eachother, with a partner count measured by the tonne. These gays are the biggest argument for executing homosexuals, imo, but outside of Iran this is rare.

I get the exact same vibe from them.
