Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

I'm not that old, and just in my lifetime, separation of church and state has gone from "the government can't institute a state religion or legislate religious doctrine" to, "people from religion X, Y, and Z aren't allowed to hold public office." How are all the policies we left in the 50s and 60s coming back through progressivism?
The laws haven't changed at all. It's just that Twitter lets you see people whining about them now.

Horse shoe theory...? Who knows.

I wouldn't be surprised if that happens, though I believe it would be more due to improper foreign connections than pettiness.

Also, "free thinking, high IQ individuals"... lol

I gotta say, I found it amusing that one of Biden's commercials as to why he should be elected over Trump is stating that he was with Obama for eight years, and will continue that legacy or some crap. Like, that's what people want to see make a come back.

Though I have to admit, I'm kind of worried about the upcoming election due to all the TDS that I've been seeing. Basically, I worry that the public, fed up with just how widespread it all is, are going to pick Biden purely because they are sick of hearing all this stuff, and want things to get back to normal, which Biden is promising.
DC has been boarding up in preparation for election night, which I don't believe they have had to do before.

See? It IS possible to make fun of both sides and it's much funnier when you do so.
I LOVE Bad Lip Reading!

Because this is kind of important, a republic is not a type of democracy. It has democratic institutions, but it also has non-democratic institutions in order to take action when democratic processes are too slow and to constrain democratic impulses when they could be harmful. This has been the meaning of republic since at least the Roman res publica.[1] Our own version of the republic has a representative democracy embodied in the House of Representatives and (since the 17th Amendment) the Senate; an executive in the person of the President; and a judicial power in the Supreme Court. If it's fair to call our republic a democracy because one of its constituent elements is democratic, we may also call it an autocracy or a kritocracy because it has elements of one-man rule and rule by judges.

There is a fad in political science to lump republics into "liberal democracies," but this corruption of language should be avoided unless one is forced to interact with political scientists for some reason.

[1] Polybius: "As for the Roman constitution, it had three elements, each of them possessing sovereign powers: and their respective share of power in the whole state had been regulated with such a scrupulous regard to equality and equilibrium, that no one could say for certain, not even a native, whether the constitution as a whole were an aristocracy or democracy or despotism. And no wonder: for if we confine our observation to the power of the Consuls we should be inclined to regard it as despotic; if on that of the Senate, as aristocratic; and if finally one looks at the power possessed by the people it would seem a clear case of democracy."
To the best of my admittedly layman understanding, the only place where direct democracy is a thing is on the very granular local level... where you elect your representative plus a few other positions. Everything else is done more or less at the whims of the elected with the intended goal of those whims acting on behalf of the electors. The issue is people don't look at the local level any more than to vote R or D right down the ballot... which is just dumb. Why bother voting at all if you won't bother to learn at least a general overview of what's going on?

I watched that preview announcement they put out for this and made it about 60 seconds before I went, "Ok, you can fuck with one of the best modern cartoons ever and destroy it, but I sure as fuck don't need to watch you do it."

Hey Hollywood, just a thought, but maybe Covid has less to do with your upcoming bankruptcy than the fact that you've done nothing original in years and have no ideas left other than "REBOOT THE THINGS!! NOSTALGIA!!" Hey though, that's just my filthy peon opinion.
My pet theory is the whole nostalgia thing there pursuing is being driven by their half understood reading of the zeitgeist.

More and more people are realizing they don't like the way society is heading. Give them a choice to keep the tech and hot water etc but go back to the way they imagine the world used to be when they were kids and they'd jump at it.

The regressives in the media are picking up an inkling of that but to them media is the world, so they can't resist shoehorning [current year] into it

"What if – hear us out – the Constitution sucks, and is wrong about everything, and shouldn't be the basis for running a society in the 21st century?" - Gravel Institute

Expect "REEEEEE ABOLISH THE CONSTITUTION" to become a mainstream leftist position once the 2020's fully come about. The amount of people agreeing with this godawful take ("muh old slave owners" seems to be a constant in such agreements), even on Twitter, has me fearing for our society at large.

I'm feeling what @Secret Asshole feels when he sees shit like this right now: pure disgust.
It's like someone attended the first week of a 200-level American Judicial Theory class and then decided they knew everything about the nature of the Constitution and the Supreme Court.

The concepts of "the dead not being able to shackle the living" and "a new constitution for each generation" in terms of law is a neat idea to discuss and have fun with. But the concept of "precedent" completely demolishes that and the Supreme Court is effectively exactly what the commenters are asking for in terms of a malleable document that shifts with the passage of time. Not to mention YOU CAN FUCKING AMEND THE DAMN THING IF YOU WANT.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I had to go research who the fuck Miles even was, and it turns out that at the time of the 2018 article, Miles was so unimportant compared to how much they tried to puff him up for the article that he didn't even appear on the roster for the Department of Homeland Security, because he was just a policy adviser. He also didn't even have a Wikipedia page until three months ago. Curiously, this Wikipedia page is locked until November 4th, because that's subtle.

I especially like the little snippet at the very bottom that makes sure that you know he's a Republican, because absolutely nothing else has ever happened in Miles' life. He's just a Republican, that's it. Nothing else.

I get that this is supposed to be some massive, "Oh my God, he's the anonymous source!?" moment from the media, but after doing a decent chunk of research on the guy I still have to lean back and go, "Fucking who?"

Today on twitter's What's Happening:

That's it, QAnon and drumpf are finished.
How is spamming a bunch of shitty unintelligible foreign pop music on twitter a victory over anything? Then again from what I have seen of these K-pop fans, they are retarded enough to think that if you listen to this shit for even a second you will instantly become a lunatic fanatic just like them somehow.

That being said, this op-ed from Chris Calliza about the anonymous source is significantly funnier now, because they were so convinced that this was a super-important totally-for-real resistance member way at the top of the ladder that he speculated it could be Mike Pence, Melania Trump, Ivanka, Jared, Jeff Sessions, and a couple of other people. Not only was it not any of them, it was such a fucking "literally who" that I haven't bumped into anyone else yet who knows who the fuck he is.

All the speculators I keep coming across are going, "Who the fuck is he?"

Again, most TDS relies on the fact that Trump is waiting until his second term to do all the evil shit. Why he didn't do it in his first term, I guess he wanted to get reelected? Who knows?

TDS at least made sense in 2016 because Trump was a complete wild card. Trump has already been president four years, but they are convinced he's just biding his time apparently.

That would be this stupid whore in regards to this bundle of endearing autism. Final score? Shark 1.12 mil subs in all of a month and a half; Venti a loss in traffic and a whole new section of the internet that hates her for being a stupid cunt that tried to call them pedos for watching a cartoon shark suck ass at minecraft.

It wasn't just her going after the shark. Venti was also trolling Twitter for Japanese lolicon artists who appeared to be unable to speak English then calling on her hordes of conservasimps to mass report and harass them. Literally the same thing the freakjob yaoi fans on Tumblr do to police the Boku No Hero Academia "fandom" and make sure all the disgusting heterosexuals and lesbians stop getting in the way of their preferred Deku/Bakugo underage anal sex fanfic and fanart posting.

Basically... left, right... thots being attention whores is eternal.

Meanwhile a lot of right-wingers are fervently praying that 2nd term Trump is as based as the liberals fear he is.

It's funny because as recently as a few months ago all the racist right-wingers were saying Trump is a faggot and telling their audience not to vote, but thanks to tiktok videos of hysterical white women and overdramatic libtard tweets even the rightwingers who think Trump is a cuck are saying "you know what fuck it, i'm voting for him for the salt".
