I didn't know he had a skull fracture. Interesting (and also tragic).
As a professional arm chair psychologist, I think Hunter is displaying a lot of Borderline tendencies. Always the victim, the yearning for affirmation and affection, the self-sabotaging/harming behavior are all indicators. Then there's how his family responds to him. I haven't read all the texts but from what I have perused Joe and his brother go out of their way to reassure him he's loved all while not putting any boundaries on him. Maybe it's out of guilt for the head injury and accident, idk.
The really weird and fascinating thing is Hunter's relationship with Beau's wife and daughter. You can look at it as sloppy seconds, or as trying to experience his brother's life in some way because he misses him so much, or, and here's where I land, he's trying to destroy Beau's family.
Regardless if anything I wrote is accurate or not, Hunter is a mess and Joe took advantage of that. Hunter is unpredictable but he can be bought, and clearly he has no moral center so he's up for doing anything Joe needs him to do to enrich the family's coffers. Talk about Father of the Year.
But hey, vote blue no matter who, am i rite?

Well, let's not shit the thread up again with this crap. However.
People with BPD/EUPD have every right to play the victim, because they always were, when they were kids. But it never got noted. So they carried that through to adulthood and took it out on their spouses so it could get noted and they could get closure/justice. Which of course never comes and only fuels the cycle more.
If you've ever taken the time to sit down and do a therapy session with someone who has been diagnosed with this, it's fucking heartbreaking. And even though the cunts (usually women) make you want to hate them, by the end of it, you are usually in tears yourself at what they went through as kids. Yes, they behave badly but they are seriously damaged. They need to be stopped before they go over the edge. Hunter never was. He was enabled and encouraged.
Another thing to note is that BPD is often a misdiagnosis of C-PTSD. They share many common traits but are different in some important aspects. Hunter was likely a victim of abuse. I don't think he was just neglected. I think he was groomed to be the fuck up he is by a very clever daddy. It all points to that. And if he carries on the generational abuse, well, that's what happens. The inter-generational abuse was probably even facilitated and encouraged.
Enough armchair from me as well.
One thing though, if anyone ever got to dig deep with this family, they would be like the ultimate human ant farm. God knows what would be uncovered underneath all that stinking decaying debris.
People with BPD are disruptive and they cause harm. But they are just one step away from going in to the Antisocial Personality Disorder bracket (Cluster B as well). That's most people in prison because they did actually stab someone. BPD usually just threaten it, or do it to themselves. It's hard to have sympathy for those that hurt others, a bit easier for those that just hurt themselves (even if they do hurt those around them as well).
Definitely some kind of serious personality issues going on though. It's academic what they are. Hunter is fucked. So are most of the family.
I'm glad I got no skin in this game.
