Buddhism is pretty much the only uniting factor across East Asia, I disagree with Turkish overlap on that one because it's such a tertiary connection. Greek kingdoms in central Asia also fought wars with China but they have literally nothing to do with them. Xiongnu and modern China have practically no cultural overlap.but tbh you can say the same with a big portion of Asia and Buddhism, which has spread accross most of Asia - South, Central, South-East and East Asia.
And Turks do have some cultural/historical overlap with China; the Xiongnu and many other Turkic kingdoms fought many wars with China. Uyghurs are Turks too, after all.
Some Asian Americans I've seen on the r/Aznidentity subreddit seem to be pushing some sort of "unity" among Asians, especially since they have a "common enemy" against the "racist Western world". I'm not sure why though. There's like 50 countries in Asia and billions of people there, most of whom don't even want to be associated with each other. Grouping them all together under a common "Asian" label was nothing more than a recent Western, government invention because during the later half of the 20th century, it became "politically incorrect" to use more direct terminology like "yellow" or "Oriental".
East Asians look down on "Jungle Asians" (aka Southeast Asians) and there is an obvious cultural and physical divide between East/Southeast Asians and South Asia, as well as the predominantly Muslim countries of West and Central Asia, etc. But I don't see them having in depth discussions on these topics or other issues prevalent within their communities, like the rampant discrimination many darker skinned Asians face. Instead, its always about hapas and their resentment at the Western world for "emasculating" them. I've even seen some of those nutjobs defend the CCP.
Those movements must be like herding cats. I can't imagine getting Chinese, Japanese, and Indian people to agree on anything other than a shared fondness for curry.I've noticed it being pretty common among the Asian American social justice-y people and groups on the mainland, too. I feel like it's a result of being the general minority surrounded by wypipo (which is pretty much the case everywhere but Hawaii and parts of California) and stereotypes like "smart Asians" and small eyes/height/penis and the whole past racism history of Chinese Exclusion Act/internment camps/etc., which I mean I sorta get and respect, but the points you've brought up are exactly why I think the whole "unity" thing makes absolutely no sense in the big picture, even as someone who is considered Asian American by definition. And it's funny mentioning "yellow" as "politically incorrect" as "yellow power" was like an actual civil rights movement thing like black power.
The only people I've known to hate eachother irl based on ethnicity are balkanoids. Indians and Pakistanis get along well in most places. Here is an interesting article from a Pakistani newspaper about an Indian tourist in Pakistan. Those movements must be like herding cats. I've heard that Indians and Pakistanis in America actually don't hate each other, which is...weird.

Kys racists nazi scum, why do you hate disadvantaged urban youth?
Well to be fair, they seem to have had enough of an impact on modern China that the Chinese are trying to abolish Turkic Islam permanently. You don't start putting people into slave camps because they have no impact on your society.Buddhism is pretty much the only uniting factor across East Asia, I disagree with Turkish overlap on that one because it's such a tertiary connection. I'm not aware of any lasting influence the Xiongnu had on Han culture. There's actually an argument to be made the Xiongnu (theorized to be ancestors of the Huns) had more of an impact on Europe.
The funniest part about this article is that it admits that we've had nearly 550 riots in major cities over ~3 months. Isn't that fucking crazy?Debunked Bigot

I love reddit, but they're too anti-trump for me.
But if it did it should've happened to the people that gave birth to these faggots. The Holocaust never happened.

I often find myself playing that role because I speak Chinese and Japanese, and that seems to count for more than having that ancestry if these people actually think China and Japan are unified on anything. Try reading a political discussion in those languages sometime and you'll see otherwise...Outside of hurr durr xenophobic wypipo karens bad muh model minority...yeah, not a whole lot. A lot of them tend to stay within their own ethnic groups anyway or stick to ones from neighboring countries (e.g. Japanese/Chinese/Korean or Filipino/Viet/Thai or Singaporean/Malaysian/Indonesian).
I've also noticed mainland Asian Americans like to really try educate others about Asian cultures that aren’t even their own, like Japanese talking about Filipino or Chinese culture and vice versa, where Hawaii people tend to never really do that outside of maybe native Hawaiian culture. They always carefully state that they're "Asian" but not like outright specify their differing ethnicity. At times I feel they overexaggerate or are completely wrong on some things, but I also get the feeling they're used to being the only “Asian expert” with their non-Asian peers.
