Okay, so I JUST stepped out my front door to smoke a cigarette and got accosted by a Biden supporter (shitton of buttons) who knew my legal name.

I imagine they hit me because I'm a registered Independent.

So... they got a ground game going here on the swing voters. Very interesting. I'm wondering if I'll get hit by the MAGA crew next. I kinda hope I do, because that's fucking lazy if they don't.

Thank Godbear I dropped my ballot off at City Hall on the 27th.

It's been almost exclusively texts for me; they have volunteers using scripts to harass people to vote for Biden.

I keep getting texts but it's neutral stuff from local voting campaigns for the most part. I did get one Trump text and a bunch of Biden. Some local representative stuff and live people polling me too. But it's a hell of a lot when I have never gotten polled or texted before. In fact, I used to believe those polls were made up because I never was polled and no one I knew said they were either. I hope this doesn't happen next time because it's not like I will forget to vote just because I didn't get a million texts.

I think one of the calls was from the mid-west judging by the accent.

But when I went to drop off my ballot the early voting line was all the way around City Hall. If you have ever seen Philly's City Hall it's fucking huge so that was insane. If I can vote by mail next time I will though. I'd likely drop the ballot off again. But it's easier and less stressful.

Just wanted to post in this thread and make my mark in kiwi history. Voted today even though I’m in a hard republican flyover state.

The wife and I have enough supplies to last us two months or so if shit goes crazy, but I don’t think we’ll see much happening unless it’s a complete destabilization. We’re about 13 miles from the big city of our state, too, so I don’t think we have much to worry about since most of the rioting will be contained to there if we have any at all.

Any kiwis in swing state big metropolitan areas have my sincerest sympathies and I’ll keep you in my thoughts. I’d legit be worried.

In case that one anon claims the internet is going to be shut down for a period of time (lmao) any recommendations for single player games or books?

Not even being ironic here, what made you people think these elections were 100% free of rigging and interference in the first place? Is there any proof of votes being completely true and valid besides taking the government’s word on it?

Just found out that US citizens STILL have to go to work during election day. Hell, if this was the case because they want to avoid shitty things happening to the economy for a single day then why not just settle the election day to be on a Saturday or Sunday.

I'm close enough to Filthadelphia that I've been told to stay away from it so I don't get caught up in the chimpouts, so I know what City Hall looks like.

Electronic voting machines should never have been legal to begin with. In the very first elections they were employed, they were broken. The counts for Bush/Kerry were simple integer values stored in the Windows Registry which could be modified arbitrarily with Regedit. In one instance in Florida, there were negative thousands of votes for Kerry and they counted them. Paper ballots with machine counting in a way that can easily be recounted and verified by humans should be the only legal way to do this shit.

I saw on the news this morning that Wisconsin has ballots that the machines reject because of a "black mark about as thin as a finger nail." Officials were going through by hand to transfer the ballots to ones that the machine will read.

If we cannot have faith in our elections then there is no point to democracy. Unless there is substantial, inarguable proof of large-scale election fraud then running around screeching about the elections being rigged is damaging to the country.
