The big issue with that harassment campaign strategy, apart from it just being a shitty thing to do, is that many times people don't actually look into the facts and just blindly follow along with others. We definitely saw that here with the swarms of people who ganged up on Tessa, even before the unfortunate "homewrecker" joke, simply for being the first girl to speak out publicly against Ryan. To my knowledge, people have continued to do so after it's been proven that she was telling the truth, and I'm willing to bet many of the other girls have received the same treatment. So even if you're being honest about what happened to you, there is a significant chance of being thrown to the wolves anyway, which is absolute nonsense to me.
I do feel better knowing that everyone who called the girls liars and sluts or whatever now has to live with the fact that they publicly defended a man whose photo should be in the dictionary next to the word "predator," though; imagine all the Twitter callout posts? That must be a secret goldmine of comedic value.
