The one at the top is Flagstaff, a very blue city. The one in the northeast is mostly an Indian reservation.

If Biden wins, he's won under circumstances that look fishy even if no one can prove that any fraud is going on. The Democrats did not take control of the Senate and they're actually losing seats in the House. Instead of Nuremberg trials for Republicans, Biden will be trying to cut deals with them. Biden now has to maintain a coalition of Democrats that includes both Bernie Sanders and Joe Manchin. Throw in Coronavirus and the fact that sometime in the next time in the next four years, a black guy will get shot by the cops. The usual suspects are now Dustin Hoffman and Katherine Ross in the final scene of The Graduate.

It is deeply weird to go on Twitter and and see left-wingers believing that Biden won and yet being really unhappy about it. Like, 48 hours ago they were engaged in a battle to save democracy, they ostensibly won, and now they're just being bitchy about it.

Trump also veto'd the Patriot Act's annual extension -- although as far as I understand it there was some shenanigans that will let Biden "extend" it if he gets in.

No, you didn't hear about that because holy fuck the glowys were pissed and the media didn't want to risk the lolbertarians and liberals gaining a reason to stop hating Trump.

I’ve been lurking obsessively for the past 24. I realized I need to step away for a while. While I want to see Trump fight and win, either way this is going to cause 1/2 the population to be mad. This does not look good for America’s future especially if what looks like rampant voter fraud is just memoryholed. Either way it will be an interesting ride.

It doesn't have to be exactly like the novel because the technology to consistently survey and audit us thankfully doesn't exist yet for that but if you don't see the motives of those in power as representing an ideology that would happily throw our privacy to the wolves to rig elections or control people then you aren't living in 2020. Given how human tools evolve so profoundly and allow us to do so much, with AI just being the tip of the iceberg as we move further into this century, I don't think it's wise to just rely on "hey bro, we can't actually do that yet". It's not about what's practical or how it happened in a story, it's that it can happen and is happening to a more negligible extent and that these ruling parties are very clearly willing to do it.

Notice how the count stopped while Biden was ahead by 8,000 votes. The reason they're waiting until Thursday to continue counting is because they're waiting for either GA, NC or PA to switch blue for Biden so they can seal themselves in for Biden right after one of those three make the blue-switch.
