Rate me if you want, but anyone who lives in the US now and is a Republican or any kind of conservitive has to see the non-presidential results as positive. The Republican party saw an increase in support overall. They held onto the the senate and they're up several seats in the house. The seeds have been sown for long-term support from Cubans in Florida, essentially setting the stage for a Texas-style long-term Republican dominance in Florida. Between that and Texas, The Republicans are building a guaranteed support base the size of the one the Dems enjoy in California. They've increased hispanic support because, surprise surprise, blue collar workers who immigrated legally don't want a bunch of people coming over the border and taking their jobs. With power in the senate and the court is filled with constitutionalists, the Democrats can't do anything too retarded like court packing or adding a bunch of states. Next time, Ted Cruz is probably going to run he's a bit more statesman like and civil so he's not going to drive away the soccer moms as much as Trump. His dad was from Cuba so they're going to nab even more of the Cuban vote in Florida. He's spent most of his life in Texas, so he's most likely not losing Texas. I'd be very surprised if a Ted Cruz led Republican Party didn't capture the house, senate and presidency in 2024 if he's up against 81-year-old sleepy Joe.

What makes you think China can't stop air and maritime traffic by imposing no fly zones and a maritime blockade?

So the only thing an arms sale would achieve is to give China excuses to take Taiwan.

If you are really concerned about Taiwan, sending boots to the ground is still stupid but makes slightly more sense. The Obamaesque solution, which I think is the best, would be to get Taiwan to pay lip service to the One China Principle, tell them to stop stirring shit at Hong Kong, and give the Communists less reason to send boots over.

It's not hard to get things to Taiwan if America wants to. You just ship it to Australia, and then have a naval training exercise and move the shipment by sea in the middle of the formation.
