Wow, a discussion on male vtubers and no one stans our son Roberu Yukoku? Aight fine, I'll show you how this shit's done.
1. Did a literal 24hr chat stream where he legit never ran out of topics
2. Understands how fucked over Holostars is and is doing his best to change the perception on them
3. Charming as Hell, his original break out clip of "Are you winning, son?" was him being absolutely spontaneous and quickly thinking of something.
4. More charming than that, he fucking owns that meme, like he won't even get mad about it being spammed, dude looks at his foreign fans with a smile every time they ask it.
5. Also tries to make sure those foreign fans stay in check, especially when he's doing appearances on other people's channels.
6. Does not stop, he will win and has pretty cool choices in games, even knocked out a playthrough of Majora's Mask.
7. Man does not drop the spaghetti when having female quests, he just can talk and you'll love it.
8. He puts his full effort into things and is an absolute comedian about things. He and his co-worker Shien once entered a vtuber contest about who could act like the edgiest teen, they did a stream planning out their idea. It was so funny watching that goofball talk about chuuni shit and trying to not laugh harder.
You know that song about 90% skill and shit? He is that song. You should also check the other Holostars, a lot of them are very solid and talented streamers with some skills and personalities that you won't find in Hololive.

They're fairly fucked over, considering they were created to originally appeal to the male idol market of fujos and lonely girls, problem is Niji by then had totally absorbed that market. Very low advertisement for the longest time. Were banned from collabing with their more popular sister unit Hololive, who at the time was still largely billed as a virtual idol group. If they even so much as talked to any of the Hololivers wrong idolfans would've out right killed their career in Japan. It's a rough life, one of the gen 2 Stars I believe it was quit, because his personal channel was doing better than his Holostars channel. Their lot in life was so bad that Yagoo considers it one of his worst failures, so now he tries to hang out with them and help them more.

I really think the whole prohibition against dating and associating with men aspect of Japanese idols is ridiculous and inhumane, and doubly so when we're talking about goddamn cartoon characters, but that seems to be what the Japanese idol fans want, so I guess that's just my inherent western cultural imperialism speaking.

At any rate, I haven't seen anything from any of the Holostars except Roberu, but at least he seems to be enjoying himself, as you outlined above, regardless of whatever crap he's facing behind the scenes. The ban on fraternizing with the girls being lifted gives hope that management has lightened up a bit in other ways as well.

Sara Hoshikawa and Akina Saegusa encroach on Haachama's territory by reviewing Otaku Rooms. In my opinion, the rooms are nothing compared to shit I have seen before. Honestly, there are lolcows here with dirtier rooms than the ones shown here.

Amelia's latest Q&A stream has some sort of loud mechanical noise in the background, possibly a lawnmower. Pretty sure it's all but confirmed she's actually DSP.

Their low advertisement was actually the result of them never actually having a manager for the start of their branch, basically having to borrow hololive's management staff for a while until they got a dedicated manager.

They were never banned from collaborating with the hololive girls, it's just that the girls either didn't want to do it in order to not get the ire of their fanbase or because they were just too busy to do so. Looking at any of the schedules, they are ridiculously packed. Even if they don't actively collab with them (Matsuri and Fubuki both have done stuff with the boys) they will watch their streams; Choco was spotted in one of Roberu's streams when he decided to to a reverb ass-drumming bit.

There are two members of Holostars that retired: Suzaku (of gen1) and Kaoru (of gen3), and I don't know if that was the reason for either of them; Kaoru at least stated that he did enjoy his time with Holostars, but my guess is that the pace may have been too much for him. As stated before, the main branch has a very busy schedule and I'm pretty sure that the stars are no different. Roberu is an absolute madman by choice since he streams like several times a day, but his reasons are that so that everyone can watch his VoDs in digestible chunks and skip out on the free talks if they just want to watch his gameplay.
