A lot of people have never actually payed attention to the process before and have no fucking clue how it works. That's why you have people whining about Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania still counting votes and trying to find it suspicious. While the same people have taken no notice that Alaska only have 58% of it's vote in and hasn't been called for Trump yet. Let alone find anything suspicious about California only having their count at 74%, New York's count only at 81%, and Mississippi's count is at 78%. It's why in general no fucks are given that most other states are at 97-99% vote count. They're simply too dumb to notice anything beyond the few states where the races are too close to call without actually counting everything and as such are the ones whose counting process is getting media attention. Going the next step or to beyond that to understand the different processes for counting and the limitations, and the differences between laws in states is likely more than they're capable of doing.
