I don't understand what the Republicans aim to achieve by trying to get support from black Americans at this point. Even with that, they never got more than at most 20% in this election. If they aim for a gradual rise of black voters throughout the years, sure. But that's gonna come at a snail's pace.

I wanted a Trump victory to see how the US could function when every single institution of power outside of the white house is openly against the president. (no i don't consider congress pro-trump, even with the GOP holding it)

I wanted Trump to win on election night because that timeline was the most hilarious. Now, regardless of who wins, the salt harvest will be bountiful. I legitimately don't care who wins anymore - this shitshow is better than anything I could have hoped for.

very much does. The ballots in Georgia and Pennsylvania are in more Democratic places. In Georgia that may give Biden a narrow win. However, the ballots in Nevada and Arizona, so far, have been favoring Trump as they get counted. With nothing to contradict that, if Trump keeps winning that ratio, he could flip both states, possibly. Pennsylvania could make all of this moot by actually counting the damn ballots all night for fucks sake.

If Georgia flips that puts Joe at 269 EC votes. Meaning it's either a tie or he wins outright if one other others go his way.

What allows the government to retain control over America is infrastructures. Without it the feds ability to project power will become limited.

Those who oppose the feds can keep hitting roads, sub stations, garbage trucks, trucking yards over and over for cheap. It takes time to replace those things and it takes resources.

Those who keep striking will win vs those who keep trying to fix the destruction. Think ieds. An ID costs 1k at most and can take out 24k truck. It becomes a battle of attrition.

Those who can keep fighting the longest for the least cost are going to win.

Without infrastructure people will form new comminities and create local services since the central services will eventually become non existent

like, the other guy was comparing this to the spanish civil war. that war was a war between those parts of the military that remained loyal to the republic, and those parts of the military who joined the nationalist coup. it was an actual war, fought by actual armies, millions of actual soldiers commanded by actual professional officers, with support from serious foreign powers such as the german luftwaffe on the nationalist side and the soviet army on the republican side.

such a situation is simply unthinkable in america. there is no world where parts of the US military go rogue and join a coup against the US government.

the key takeaway here is that basically nobody in spain wanted the republic as it was, most people wanted something that was radically different, and so they went and fought for it.

this is not the case in america. no serious organisation in america wants a different system of state and government. both major parties are firmly loyal to the republic and its institutions, and so is the military. there will not be a civil war like there was in spain.

yes, that Spain after 1923, but popular sentiment during the 1910s was largely pro status quo. we're still living in virgin America, the peoples' mindset will change after someone forcefully tries to seize power

That's not what I said. I said it's embarrassing to walk back calling a state, especially when the presidency hinges on that state. For example, it would be embarrassing for any network if they called Pennsylvania or Georgia for Trump on election night and a day or to later had to say "we were wrong, Biden can still win this state". That hurts their credibility. Possibly even hurts their viewership if it causes people to go elsewhere for their election news. Still if the election doesn't hinge on it at that moment, it's not as embarrassing, and they can even wait and correct themselves after the election gets decided by other states.

In the case that Fox is looking at right now, they called Arizona for Trump. So if the count in Nevada goes for Biden before Arizona is resolved, Fox has two choices. Either declare Biden the winner according to their count when no one else is declaring Biden the winner, or admit their call was wrong in Arizona despite it being critical to the election. Either one is extra embarrassing.
