At the literary workshop Sabedoria das Ruas, on January 15, 2016, we decided to do something different in the face of the euphoria of the usual participant Eduardo de Oliveira Pinto (Snoopy), who had watched the “Snoopy” film at the Launch.

From the animation of the same we decided to do a mini interview to learn more about Snoopy and Snoopy, one for the other and the other for the same.

Snoopy is the name of a nice little dog created by cartoonist Charles Monroe Schulz in the United States in 1950, here in Brazil, his drawings arrived in 1983 and were very successful.

Among the admirers of Snoopy, we have Eduardo de Oliveira Pinto, now 39, who lives in São Paulo at Casa São Lazaro (Reciclazaro) and is also a seller of OCAS magazines. Since he was 7 years old when he saw the drawing for the first time he fell in love with the character, at that time he still lived with his grandparents in Osasco and after they passed away in 2002, going through a series of adversities, he started living in hostels in the city of São Paulo and adopted the nickname Snoopy.

As a super fan, Snoopy went to watch the “Snoopy” film at the premiere at Pátio Higienópolis shopping mall and we did some questions about our Gas Wisdom Street Streets (held every Friday from 10am to 12pm at Espaço Gasômetro - Reciclazaro). film and the Snoopy´s:

Street Wisdom: What did you think of the “Snoopy” movie?

Snoopy: I thought it was amazing! He was very faithful with the strips, showing the relationship of Charlie Brown with Garotinha Ruiva and Snoopy with Fifi, his girlfriend, there were moments of joy, humor and many moralizing lessons about love for others and friendship. In the last scene of the movie Charlie Brown also fails to kick the soccer ball as it always did in the comics. The scenarios were incredible and the 3D was perfect for this film that celebrates 65 years of the creation of the characters.

Wisdom of the Streets: What is the reason for your admiration for “Snoopy”?

Snoopy: Snoopy is a charismatic, noble and friendly dog like all dogs are around the world. I lost the fear of dogs as a child because of him, Snoopy does many feats for a normal beagle, from sleeping on top of his little house to even being able to fly with his little house and defeat the Red Baron (symbolizing Nazism once Schulz fought in World War II explains our Snoopy). In the Snoopy comics and drawings there are no black humor passages, despite showing many adult feelings in children, for example, the character Lucia was inspired by his first wife, expressing anger and even trying to humiliate other characters.

Street Wisdom: When you talk about Snoopy you also end up making a lot of direct references about Schulz, its creator, is there any personal admiration about him?

Snoopy: When I was told that the creator of Snoopy was an atheist, I was not convinced and decided to investigate and research his life. I found out that he has a very very sad past but never lost his faith as a member of the Methodist church. When he started drawing at the age of 22, he went on to serve in the army, becoming a third sergeant and fought in France's troops against Hitler's Germany during World War II, in the army he also illustrated military books. When he returned from the war, he drew pictures for Sunday Bible school, but his success was when he created Peanut (Charlie Brown) and his class (Snoopy), Schulz had two wives and six children, suffered from Parkinson's disease and even so he continued drawing with difficulty until the age of 77 when he died of bowel cancer (12/02/2000) in the city of Santa Rosa, California,the next day the publication of his retirement strip came out.

Wisdom of the Streets: About the Snoopy sculptures that are scattered throughout the city of São Paulo:

Snoopy: I thought they were very beautiful, but I didn't like the depredation they suffered, I visited the Paulista, Sé, Copan Building, São Bento and Liberdade, now three are missing, Oscar Freire, Luz and Mercadão.

And you think furries would have learned their lesson in high school; getting all uppity and 'fighting back' just gives the rest of us an opportunity to beat them up and take their lunch money. (In Minecraft)

And last thought - I was going to mention this in relation to Tex15's sperg post from a few back - how shitty is one's 'hobby' and 'fandom' when a huge portion of it is getting mad about how others outside of it react and respond to it? Last time I checked having a hobby or pursuing something for fun is done because.. well, fun, right? You'd think at some point, a furry would just say, fuck it, this isn't any fun.

Met one the other day on a discord I joined who was super into FNAF. She had really fucked up teeth and she had dyed danger hair like something you'd see on those classic feminist memes. She said she went through 16 surgeries in her lifetime which is insane in of itself. She's super nice though, but she definitely has an autistic fixation.

Yeah I decided to be a little wholesome since this thread was getting a little dark with the zoophilia shit.
