As much as I'd like this to be true, I'm fairly sure Nigel founded the Brexit Party before Carl began to make a spectacle of himself in earnest, and it was a direct response to May being incompetent rather than anything Sargon did. It's still pretty funny because it fucking torpedoed #WarPlanPurple before it even began, making Carl's subsequent antics that much more damaging to a party already on life support.
It was, though part of his concern was people like Carl and Tommy Robinson coming into UKIP and making them look stupid. As it was he was able to avoid major scandals by making Brexit Party candidates behave respectably.
Also Farage and Batten wrestling for control of UKIP, if Farage had managed to get control of UKIP he might have purged the e-celebs and stuck with UKIP instead of forming the Brexit Party.
That's a very real possibility, but UKIP always had its share of crackpots attracting negative PR. I think @Illiterate Wanderer's theory is more likely. Starting a new party from the ground up was way more convenient than having to wrangle control of the old one back. The Brexit Party was also clearly intended to be a short-lived tool to pressure the Tories into delivering Brexit, rather than a party existing for its own sake, so Farage having full unchallenged control over decision-making making was imperative.
Unless AFD is particularly far right I'd point out that proper border control and reduced immigration are very popular positions among the public.

He is deleting all his YouTube channels but it seems that they are planning to upload podcast clips up on YouTube and he is a host. The set for the podcast looks like shit to me since it so colorless and drab but to each their own.
