I don't think they "know they are fucked" and is instead avoiding any slipups on camera. There's gotta be some clash of titans madness going on behind the scenes right now as tons of lawyers on both sides are quickly formed into teams and they are directly fighting for the next president in an unprecedented event.

C-SPAN already had some DNC election lawyer come on and express how this is all just Trump beating his chest and the election system is fine and we'll see that this was all a bunch of nothing. They asked some basic questions about GOP suspicions in Philadelphia and he said that it's all a big misunderstanding and chalked it all up to COVID requiring a few changes for the safety of poll workers and ballot counters.
To C-SPAN's credit they then followed up with the GOP attorney lady and some guy who were going hard in Philadelphia that were saying it's all bullshit but hearing both sides, only the GOP lawyers actually seem to make sense right now.
