"I don't like this and don't want to eat it." is a reasonable position we can all understand. " I don't care, you'll eat it anyway!" is not. I mean, can you imagine being told that as a grown adult? It'd be grounds for an asskicking!
Far too few adults actually try to figure out what their kids like. When I was a kid there were certain veggies I fucking hated and being forced to eat them made me hate them even more and avoid them for years only to find out later that I do like them but only when prepared well.
Broccoli for instance. Can't stand the shit boiled. Love it when it's steamed. And yet my mom always tried to force me to eat boiled fucking broccoli which led me to have an aversion to broccoli until I was 20 when I tried some good steamed broccoli at a resturaunt. Now I love the shit!

I actually wonder if shit like this isn't why some kids grow up so rebellious. Instead of compromise they're taught to shut the fuck up and take whatever is dished out, which is pretty well against human nature. So to reassert their individuality they go full "Fuck you, mom & dad!" and we end up with a fuckload of dipshits who never listen because they themselves were never listened to.

cause when you let kids decide what they want to eat based on their personal tastes you end up feeding them a diet that consists of nothing but french fries, pizza, chocolate and soda lol

otoh many adults forget that kids have taste buds not destroyed by 20 years of smoking, drinking and eating spicy shit, and some things that are mild for adults might have overwhelming taste for kids

There's a happy medium between forcing them to eat something they absolutely hate and letting them eat ANYTHING they want every time.

Fuck it, call me foolish, but I'm gonna give Biden a chance. Dude's obviously not all there, but at least it sounds like he's willing to reach across the aisle instead of keeping us divided. Remains to be seen if he truly practices what he preaches, but at this point, I'm willing to give anyone a chance that can mostly form coherent sentences. I don't think the world is necessarily as bad as the media and internet make it seem, there's a lot of bad in this world, but a lot of good too, and I'm ready to make baby steps towards a better future!

Dems did more to divide and antagonize the country, both sides, than Repubs ever did. They're both in on it for sure, but still. At least Trump's administration had to pretend to not be in league with corporate leftist interests, now it's just front and center because that's apparently what the public wanted. Biden is irrelevant as far as actual happenings go. The silver lining is that now without Trump as the lightning rod the socjus crowd is going to turn in on itself and start infighting, and in turn there'll be much less interest in the media running some dumb stories about "racism" every day because immigrants or something so maybe they'll finally shut up about it and we'll get some relative peace.
