I concur on the money-printing thing. The expenses beyond the initial onboarding costs look like they'd be pretty small, so as long as the streamers are bringing in enough to cover them (and aren't causing drama or whatever), why cut them off and have them go to another agency or go solo and cut yourself out of the share of income? I do hope that the streamers are getting a decent chunk too, though - I'm really curious what their contracts look like. As for internal competition, I would hope they do some screening for that and avoid hiring someone who looks like they might start drama due to jealousy. But young women will be young women, I know… still, if it were really a problem, I bet we would have heard more about it by now.
Well, yes. At some point the novelty will wear off and the fad will start to recede, and some of the streamers will no longer be profitable. I don't think that attention to streamers is a zero-sum game, though - the rabbit hole is a thing, as we all know now, and I don't have the numbers to prove it but I'm willing to bet that collab streams pull better numbers than solo ones when the collaborators have some decent chemistry.
in addition, from a cold business sense having less popular branches can get in the way of more popular ones because their is assumed to be some cross over so you have to work around that. I also assume their is some coordination to ensure no one steps on each other's toes too much. The market is bound to get saturated eventually even within Hololive's own space as they add more branches, their is only so much time people can spare to watch anime girls on youtube.
