I actually think the New Order will be run by Clinton/Blair neoliberals. It will be a soft authoritarian regime like the ones in EU countries but it won't be fully totalitarian. Also, Biden needs to remember that Clinton and Blair got away with their many sins by delivering economic growth. Lockdowns will guarantee that the economy tanks.

Bonus points: troons in the military are very likely going to ask for transfers to non-combat positions due to "oh, transition is making me weaker now, like a woman", so if this shit is allowed to go on you'll have them overly represented in the cushy bureaucracy while everybody else, gay or straight, is bleeding on the sand somewhere in the middle east.

Discipline and hazing aren't the same thing. Dedovschina made the Russian army fall apart in the 1990s. Finland has very well trained and competent forces but they don't abuse them, they just expect them to do their duties (and having the threat of Russia just over the border is motivation enough to make them). US forces go to Nordic countries for winter warfare training because every conscript there has to deal with harsh winter conditions in the field.

The fact the continental USA doesn't have immediate land threats over the border means that the same motivation isn't there. And thus you get crazy troons.

Despite that, there has always been a sense of duty among the armed forces. They have always felt they were performing a necessary function. I don't see how literally insane, mentally ill, narcissistic freaks contribute in any way to this. I think they should be kept out, just for the mental illness.

Trump is not a good person but the politicians on the other side are worse. And stand for worse. Now I'm sure a lot of the people on the Orange Man Bad train are not bad people, or stupid and have just been brainwashed but they're still a problem because they're turning a blind eye to the US's transition to a banana republic where the Democrat candidate always wins. This is, to put it mildly, unlikely to lead to a better person as POTUS than Biden or Trump next time. Generally speaking when countries cease to have competitive elections the people leading them just get worse and worse with no limit on how awful they or their policies become. And historically if you have competitive elections there is at least some lower limit on how terrible a person or their policies can get.

Abolishing competitive elections because of Trump's character flaws just doesn't make sense. Leaders in non-competitive systems have been much, much worse.

Why do people doubt that going to SCOTUS wouldn't be in his favor? I am not super knowledgable about these things unfortunately, just it's very widespread that people think Biden is definitely the next President.

True, but bear in mind I'm talking about subjective, psychological issues here. US citizens, as a whole, don't feel threatened by imminent invasion in the way that, say, South Koreans do. It's why Sweden, a supposed feminist country, maintained massive armed forces through the cold war in case the Soviets came.

I agree with keeping the crazy troons out though.

I'm not even going to make a joke about 'it's not gay if you're underway' because we're going to miss the US Navy when it stops keeping China and Russian in check and concentrates on retrofitting unisex bathrooms to ships that will just lurk around the US or stay in port because '"C'mon man. I think you're grossly overestimating the extent that Biden will meddle with the navy. There are already a load more Arleigh Burkes and Ford class aircraft carriers under construction and he'll probably continue with what was already going on since he doesn't really care.
