The Holy Roman Empire alternated between being a meaningless fake political entity and ravaging Italy and Germany with pointless wars between the Holy Roman Emperor and the Popes and between the Holy Roman Emperor and powerful German nobles. Try harder at opening a history book.

Ironically, after the empire tore itself apart in the horrific 30 years' war and left 8 million dead, the treaty of Westphalia was signed to lay the foundations of modern nation states. Because people knew how terrible the old system was.

As an aside, I like the idea of a democratic monarchy. Effectively, take our system as is, switch out the presidency for a monarchy, leave him accountable to the senate and judiciary with a clear balance of powers.


This won't ever be a thing, but I like the idea of it.

Monarchy DOES have its upside, involving a long view that elected officials cannot have.

No, but also yes. The idea of a Democratic Monarchy is that the executive is not an elected position, but the legislature is. Ideally, and in theory, it balances out the worst of each with the best of each.

The truly fascinating thing that's going on right now is that while we're all here arguing about whether the litigation will be successful or not, we really haven't heard a peep out of the Biden camp about these challenges, and they're generally acting like they're already planning their full transition down to a complete reupholstering. Do you think this is more that they're supremely confident that they've got this in the bag and don't even need to waste time to rebuff these litigation challenges, or are they maintaining this cloak of deception while they're secretly panicking/setting up their legal teams?

This is probably my biggest suspicion after all the fraud stuff.

Like Hawaii always being blue means an instant call at official poll closing time even though no results were published for like another 4-5 hours because of lazy ass locals waiting until the last minute, yet because Alaska is usually always red it somehow doesn't warrant the same response? Even though it was never a battleground state or close contest to begin with? Even though you've been doing this for how many or so elections? If you're so confident in Biden being president and Trump not catching up at this point just fucking call it already. What's so hard about that? oh wait
