Global outages lasting more than a few minutes are quite rare, though.

This seems to be less a "youtube" issue and more of a "network" issue in general, though. Is a DNS data center on fire or something?

That would be pretty ridiculous, basically shut down half the internet for everyone on Earth to run gay ops in a single country? Maybe they'll do it so often that people will say "Fine, give us the One World Government, at least this constant fuckery will end..."

This. YouTube traffic spiked after election night. Alternative media is decentralized and all over Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter. All of which are seeing massive traffic right now. Twitter and Facebook, to a lesser extent, can't ban people fast enough to control the narrative. I highly suspect that a lot of my favorite political channels will be nuked when they go back up.

You'd think Big Tech would be happy that they're getting all this increased traffic and extra advertisement dollary-doos. I guess their political agenda is more important than profit.

And yet, Microsoft has outages frequently. With this many sites having issues, the likelihood is DNS or the cloud like AWS, GCP, or Azure. I would assume Google is using GCP since it is their cloud, maybe AWS too.
