Wow--yet another excellent reason to say, "Fuck Ticketmaster."

I've missed live music the most out of all the things that have been restricted or shut down completely since the lockdowns began. But seriously, fuck Ticketmaster, and any other ticketing agency or venue that institutes a policy like this.

Cuomo has ordered bars, restaurants, and gyms to close at 10pm as if the virus emerges at night.
Forcing these places to close earlier means people who would normally go after 10pm are going to go earlier, resulting in more people in there at the same time and increase the chances of transmission, surely?

You voted for this America...So much for Trump "taking ze jobs away".

Lockdowns have become just like communism

"It will work this time, guys! Just give it another chance! You just didnt wear the masks enough, bigot!!"

You know, that violates on some many persona civil rights...but at this point...they know that doesnt fucking matter.

They told us to jump and we asked "how high" this entire.fucking.year....

Why suddenly will this be "the last drop" ? And they find it all...fucking...hilarious.

Aw...opps? Its almost like they dont know how human beings work.

I can say that on experience however. A lot of clients of mine thankfully adjusted their schedules to come by a little earlier and there are times the pizzaria is packed to the core. So much for social distancing, am I fucking right?

I already hate Ticketmaster with a deep-seated and primal passion, and I hope they get boycotted to oblivion because there is no fucking way on Earth this is justifiable.

It isnt but they will do it and they know you will get on your knees and ask more ass fucking from 2020 senpai. And they, my friend, will deliever it. We proved we are tame enough to conquer now.

COVID first hyperevent, found on /x/

What a time to be alive where Metal Gear Solid 2 becomes more and more "based on real life events"

Sounds like it. At least it's not being shut down so there's that.

I am more concerned about the gatherings being limited. I am supposed to go to my brother's for Thanksgiving and there's at least 15 people coming.

The lockdown rules are even more bizarre in the UK.

Before the lockdown restaurants were removing or "closing" tables to enforce social distancing. There's a chain of pubs called Wetherspoons that forced everyone to use an app to order stuff to your table and wouldn't take orders at the bar. Those pubs are usually packed because they sell good beer for cheap but the last time I went (a week before the latest lockdown) it was pretty empty with plenty of available tables.

Obesity is a major comorbidity for Covid, so encouraging people to get some exercise at a gym or swimming by, for example, giving free access to council gyms and pools might help lower the fatality rate.

Secondary schools and colleges typically have 1000+ teenagers from different households mingling together, generally in small classrooms in large groups.

Care to guess which one they kept open?

Also it is time to cut the "fat pride" bullshit. You cannot say that obesity is a health issue and in the same breath push body positivity.

I have a feeling entertainment venues, whether public or private, are having the screws put to them to do everything they can to keep their venues form becoming sources of large outbreaks.I'm not saying I agree with that stance, but simply offer a best guess for the reasoning behind it.

Similarly, I can't recall if it was the NHL or NBA, but I saw a headline earlier today that I wasn't able to screencap suggesting that they will also want fans to have proof of a COVID test within the previous 48 hours in order to attend games.

How would this even work? Some areas discourage testing unless people suspect they have (or were exposed to) COVID or have any of the telltale symptoms. Other places are charging fees not always covered by insurance. For those covered by insurance, will insurance cover frequent testing of people who are getting tested solely to be admitted to an entertainment facility?

I just don't see how any of this will work on a large-scale, meaningful basis because of pushback. Around here, restaurants are switching to carry-out or closing again because people were giving obviously bogus contact information in response to the state's requirement restaurants take names/numbers of sit-down customers for contract tracing purposes.

I've been to every home NFL game for my local team this year and it is lawless. Massive close gathering at the metal detectors (which they ironically took 80% away to encourage distancing). The first game the security guy came up and said masks on but I showed him my drink and he said alright carry on, haven't been bothered since. Nobody is sitting around me and my roommate anyway.

It's really nonsensical to think people are going to get tests before going to any sporting event or concerts. I used to go to games because it was fun to be around the people I have tickets by. You become friends with them after years and years and it makes it more enjoyable. I'm the kind of guy that likes crowds and mixing football (a common interest) makes it all the more better. This year has sucked. The stadium is at 10% capacity, it isn't fun, it's dead. There's nobody at bars before or after games. I've gotten yelled at for being reckless about public health by people. I haven't gotten sick yet, although I'm sure I've already had this thing but just didn't know.

It really blows. I took for granted how fun nonsensical things can be. I've watched more and more documentaries on world events and realized a virus that kills 1-2% of those infected is nothing compared to the world wars or any massive conflict in human history. I think that's where I get mad about it. If governments and corporations are gonna prevent people from having fun and living life in a pandemic in which we know the risk for young people is low, what are they gonna do when the next world war breaks out?

I'm not surprised. This summer, I had a rare opportunity to be involved in a summer sports tournament. I found the organizer's website and printed off the information packet which included all the COVID protocols that were to be followed. When I arrived there, I was just one of two people wearing a mask in the entire facility. Players, coaches, and fans followed none of the protocols -- the latter of which packed themselves tightly into the bleachers with no gaps (let alone 6 feet of distance) between them -- and nobody in charge was around to even make it look like they cared about everyone's safety and the adherence to the most minimal of the COVID protocols.

On the other hand, school sports probably have the most control because there are both national and state-level guidlines that are being followed. From what I've read, student-athletes contracting COVID are getting it from home and not from schools where their safety protocols are being followed as strictly as possible.

Even for the casual fan who might go to a game once in a blue moon, it's nice to interact with neighboring fans and learn who's the diehard season ticket holders and who else is there for the first time or occasional game. Social in-person interaction which has been forbidden for the past 8 months is probably the one thing people are missing the most and causing the most issues with people's well-being and mental health.

It really blows. I took for granted how fun nonsensical things can be.

Agreed. How many of us have friends who would invite each other over during the summer to watch sports, play backyard sports, enjoy food/drink, or just simply shoot the breeze with each other? Even that is on hold right now because of an overall fear of contracting COVID without symptoms or conflicting directives about how many unrelated people can legally be in the same yard with each other. Besides socialization, people also need an outlet to blow off steam with each other. *sigh*

How is that legal anyway? It sounds like a potential HIPAA violation because why do I need to tell a major corporation like Ticketmaster or the fucking NBA if I took the magic vaccine or not? Why does anyone beside my doctor or the public health tyrants need to know? If they keep this up then I'd expect there's going to be one hell of a business for writing "yes I took the vaccine/took a test" documents to give these people when they demand it.

LA County using CARES Act money to partially pay PR firms for COVID-19 messaging; now totaling $2.9 million

https://www.foxla.com/news/la-count...r-covid-19-messaging-now-totaling-2-9-million (https://archive.vn/WutBC)
Excerpt:
The County is now paying both firms a total of $2.9 million, a 650% increase from when the contracts were first signed seven months ago, and according to Fraser’s contract, L.A. County is using federal CARES Act money to offset the cost of the contract through the end of 2020. County funds will pay for it through 2021.

America could be just like New Zealand and Taiwan. A hard lockdown for 6 weeks and no more virus

Yes the economy will collapse and there will be an economic depression but no more virus.

Now all we've got to do is figure out how to turn the continental Untied States into a small island and ban all inward travel and for sure this will work.

>doomer talking points debunked
>doomer goes quiet
>1-2 weeks later
>a new doomer appears
>rinse, wash, repeat

If you faggots can't be bothered to lurk the thread, why should I even bother arguing your regurgitated talking points again and again?

Fake news

I have it from reliable sources that there are a number of young fat women who catch the coof and are unable to work for months after due to chronic fatigue.

This is a serious issue and puts a lie to the idea that's it only the elderly who are at risk.

Gatherings are limited to no more than 10 people. It'll be interesting how that's going to be enforced with the holidays but he can go get fucked.
Thousands of Thanksgiving protests.

Mask Discipline is already breaking down in my area. Local restaurants are staying open and the mayor's are backing them. Biden is going to put a mask mandate into effect and find no one wants to deal with it.

This is going to be like trying to tard wrangle millions of feral cats into a Cirque de Soleil performance.
