Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

This is who we've shut down entire economies and had our lives upended for in order to protect.
It's a shame the elderly die at such high rates, because otherwise this would be a nice injection of chlorine into the gene pool with how it removes and sterilizes the hamplanets and bugchasers and drug addicts.

Such a tax, if passed, would likely discourage working home whenever possible and potentially put more workers at risk for contracting COVID from the workplace.
Don't make me like a tax.

Widescale working from home has been an unmitigated disaster. There has been so much that has been missed and overlooked because people were taken out of a centralized office environment. Communications broke down and collaborative efforts have struggled. You'd think they would have figured out their automated phone trees and voicemailboxes by now but they haven't.

I swear if I hear one more middle-aged woman office drone humblebrag about how much more productive she is at home because she is "getting all the work done early" I'll lose it. It's real easy to get your work done ahead of schedule if a significant part of your tasks are ignored because nobody can get ahold of you to fix all the little overlooked things that always go wrong.

As a guy who is consistently at the pointy end of things in the field, this year has been tough. Worst working experience of my life because all of the supporting cast are even more useless than usual. Guess who gets the honor of picking up the slack.

I've hit max apathy for this entire thing.

Brought it up with my boss who was freaking out about the "surge in cases" about how they're possibly counting flu cases along with covid. Nope, I'm wrong; I think it's a hoax and I'm an evil person while sending me links to CNN articles with contradictory information. There's long term effects that destroys ALL of your organs. But he doesn't wear a mask when he doesn't have to. . . Even if he's at work. Doesn't even wear one when he's around me. His wife is constantly up here at our facilities even though she can't work do to being "immunocompromised".

Meanwhile, the GM of my company sat next to an individual at an assembly meeting that tested positive a week later so she takes off, takes one of those 30 minute tests, and is back to work on monday.

Hypocrites the lot of them

Fauci: U.S. Has ‘Independent Spirit’ But It’s ‘Time To Do What You’re Told’ To Stop Pandemic

Eat absolute shit. Times of crisis are when your character is most important. You don't have an "independent spirit" if you roll over at the first sign of challenge.

"Do what you're told." Like we're fucking five years old. The absolute gall of this waste of organic material. Yes, I realize I've earned my top hats.

They're useless to begin with. Most boomers still haven't really figured out computers, so I'm hoping they'll be found redundant.

When you have to get all changes in service pre-authorized and all of the service contracts are a mess because they aren't letting sales do in-person bids anymore, it really isn't a computer thing. It's a corporate white-collar bureaucracy thing.

Used to be able to raise hell by calling to light a fire under somebody in sales or operations. If that failed to get things moving you could show up to the office to make shit happen. Take it straight to the GM in person if you had to.

Now all you have is toll-free line and a corporate e-mail address. Just shouting into the void.

She's a gymnastics coach, all right. A 20 seater.
She also has Asthma. Probably the biggest reason for her complications.

Meeker, who has only been off a ventilator for several days, doesn’t know how she contracted the coronavirus. She went to a family wedding, but she was the only one who ended up sick. She wonders if she got it at the grocery store. Her underlying condition? Asthma.
They'll never mention it as a key factor, though.

Elon Musk said there's something fishy about the Covid-19 tests. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...positive-negative-twice-COVID-19-one-day.html
Elon Musk has claimed he took four coronavirus tests in a day, two coming back positive and two negative, and declared 'something extremely bogus is going on.'
The Tesla boss, who has previously described lockdown measures as 'fascist,' tweeted Thursday: 'Was tested for covid four times today. Two tests came back negative, two came back positive. Same machine, same test, same nurse. Rapid antigen test from BD.'
The 49-year-old may have been referring to Becton Dickinson's Veritor Plus system, a 15-minute rapid antigen test. BD is a major supplier of tests to the US government.
The FDA, which gave emergency authorisation to the BD test, says any negative result should be verified by molecular testing - the most accurate form.
Musk later revealed he was suffering 'typical cold' symptoms and warned of the contradictory results: 'If it's happening to me, it's happening to others'.

Their documentation for the BD test warns that even a positive result 'indicates the presence of viral antigens, but clinical correlation with patient history and other diagnostic information is necessary to determine infection status.'
As regards a negative result, it says: 'Negative results are presumptive. Negative test results do not preclude infection and should not be used as the sole basis for treatment ... It is recommended that these results be confirmed by a molecular testing method.'
Last week, the FDA said it was alerting clinical laboratory staff and healthcare providers that false positive results can occur with COVID-19 antigen tests.
BD said in September it was investigating reports from nursing homes that its rapid coronavirus testing equipment was producing false-positive results.

Ran 9 miles of hill running yesterday and 10 today with no mask on and it was glorious. Going to go out again tomorrow morning so I can hit 50 miles ran this week. Of course today the only person who made that wear a mask hand gesture was some fat boomer fuck waddling along the trail.

It's so sickening there are people who'd rather shave years off of their lives endlessly worrying about this bullshit disease, and even more sickening they want to drag us in with their little slow death by anxiety death cult.

In a piece of good news though the local ski resort is going to open tomorrow. Having a 2 day delay for your opening due to employees having Covid isn't the worst thing in 2020.

This alleged man needs to be horsewhipped and run out of D.C. while being tarred and feathered.

So super goblin mega-groid Lori Lightfoot declared a stay at home order for Thanksgiving... and then went to a political rally.

Ace of Spades has the deets.

Next motherfucker I hear make some faggot remark about 'superspreading', I'm going to super-spread their asscheeks around the toe of my shoe.

God, I hate that bitch. I'm so fucking glad I don't live in Chicago any more.

Last weekend, Dear Leader Gavin Newsom went to a birthday party with more than 12 people/3 households at The French Laundry, a 3-Michelin starred, $300+ per person restaurant in Napa County. But it's okay because they dined outside, right?

This is kind of autistic, but ever since he announced the Thanksgiving guidelines, I keep fantasizing about organizing a huge Thanksgiving party outside Gavin's $3.7 million mansion. I mean, he did say we should have Thanksgiving outside. Just call it a peaceful protest so the cops can't do anything.

In light of Cuomo's new restrictions, Joe Borelli, a NYC councilman has said that he's having Thanksgiving anyway (archive).

Good on him, it makes me feel like that I am not alone with thinking this is getting stupider by the day. And of course, Twitter assholes go on and hope he or his family members gets COVID-19.

The fact that people defend this crap makes me think about the Sandford Neighborhood Watch Alliance from Hot Fuzz. For the greater good indeed. https://youtu.be/rm--inJtnc4

In California they have signs at the trail heads telling you to wear masks when passing people on the trails . I never understood the point of that, you're outside and you're quite honestly passing the people in less than a few seconds. What I understand is you have to be in a confined space with somebody for 15 minutes to even have a chance of catching it. It's almost a reflex with the people here now to put a mask on when they walk past you on the street or on a trail. They seem to look at you weird for not wearing it I look at them weird because they look dumb with them on. It seems that the population here is just more obedient to a overbearing government than red state America. I can't wait to be done with my work out here and return to red state America.
