As far as I can tell the appeal to vtubers has shifted a little at latest in the western space. If you go into YouTube comments you get people wishing vtubers were more personal and "real". They want more out of character talk and would rather they stay out of character. Even in places like /jp/ there are anons wishing for hololive members for instance to to either drop the character or just to not lean on it so much. This is probably why there has been a lot of doxxing in the hololive threads, well that and schizos wanting attention.
With that much information out there, sure, well close at least. Nyanners and all her info is out there since she uses the same name that she had before she became a vtuber and and she did a face reveal she become a vtuber. On the Japanese side of things there is Tamaki a trap vtuber, it's an open secret that he is voiced by his illustrator is the mangaka Norio who is a women, there are also a few more female more female mangaka he vtub on the side. Of course for these mangaka, besides for Tamaki, this isn't a serious thing and is just for fun and advertisement for their work. Plus none of the Japanese vtubers really talk about politics. The closest I can think of is when a Nijisanji vtuber talked about Japans declining birthrate.

It probably says more about me that I'm mad because gyaru is a fashion subculture and this is a very surface level weeaboo take on gyaru based entirely on outdated porn doujins that didn't represent the fashion subculture at all.
This is how I feel about it too. Tenleid goes on in videos/tweets about how she loves gyaru but her understanding of what she thinks gyaru is pretty much just comes from porn/anime. She even did a photoset attempting to be gyaru and it looks like absolute shit...even if it weren't an attempt at being gyaru it would still look awful tbh

She's so far removed from the Japanese concept of an attractive woman (or a "waifu" for you weirdos out there) that I find her whole career kind of jarring and weird. The Japanese standard of beauty is modest, with a slim and proportional body (big tiddies optional), and a cute/gentle-looking face (Tenleid is not ugly but she does have an inexplicably "hard" look to her face). That's not even mentioning the tattoos (big no no in Japanese culture), but I guess for an "alternative" millennial girl that's to be expected. I would have expected that someone who is obsessed with the kind of anime and vidya girls that Tenleid cosplays as would have similar tastes.
