Crap article but decent info if you read between the lines. It verifies what I searched for myself, though obviously paints it in the context of someone who still calls Biden "president elect". Thanks. There's more to it than back-peddling though.
It seems the original claim perhaps had to be amended/removed because even though the allegation was ballot counters were either barred view or kept as far from the counting as possible, thus making it almost impossible to actually oversee anything, they were technically there and technically viewing things, so for legal reasons in order to not have the case ruined they dropped the issue.

You can see this with the official response by a Dem counter in that Aljazeera article posted earlier, stating:

See what I mean? They were technically there but the counters did everything under the sun to keep them from actually doing their jobs, but since they were technically there, saying they were totally barred from their duty could be used against them in court, despite there being sworn statements on both sides.
