I completely agree, Jerry's been striking me as incredibly bored for a while now. He barely updates the PokeMadhouse, hasn't updated The Sith Resurgence since August, and even his videos are more phoned in than usual, posting shitty Mystery Science Theater ripoffs that don't even require scripting. Strikes me as depressed, losing interest in his old hobbies and not knowing what to replace them with. So he starts reading his Kiwifarms thread, opens up a Twitter...when did he visit Mikail, was that recently? Bored or desperate, either way he clearly needs more than he has right now.

Ginger is very talented and the animatic is cute I'll give it that. But its ripped straight from this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMIxJB8OQUU which puts a very sour taste in my mouth for the lack of originality. It might not seem like that big of a deal but idea/concept theft is a sort of relevant thing in art circles. She used the beige background. sketchy line art, the same exact music, and the same section of the song, as well as some of the same general keyframes (the first 10 seconds are nearly the same and the heart eyes ginger uses is also used in the original). I'm not saying its copying exactly but I am saying its extremely unoriginal and I expect more from Ginger.

are they similar? Yes
is it a rip off? No

it's like saying sonic ripped off Mario because sonic has blue yellow and red in his design. Or that Steven universe is a rip off of land of lustrous because both have anthropomorphic space rocks in their show.

Sure it uses the same colour pallet and the same son but this comes off more of an inspiration more than a "'can i copy your homework?' 'sure just change it a bit!'"

animation memes are popular as hell-where it's notorious for people to copy preexisting ideas like how the character moves or how the animation should be done. I.e the Sponge on Me meme where everyone dances the same, the only difference is the characters use. Ina similar vein of doing animatics based off songs, its also a similar concept here too. hell its even a thing to put 'inspired by (op's username)' in the video or description or something, but even then... its not necessary because Ginger and the original video are different enough.

Even then, the tone of the song is one girl having doubts about if she's worthy enough of being loved and her gf makes sure to reassure her that she loves her nomatter what- pretty specific topic with on the nose imagry that cant be changed THAT much.

The quote tweets for his "don't use queer because that implies gay people are strange" writing take is being met with quite a bit of backlash, with the general sentiment being that people don't want to hide their identity of being "different" just to appease a fringe group who take offense to it and that marking a word as a slur because it suggests "strangeness" implies that there's something wrong with actually being "strange", at least in the eyes of those who it describes.

Love to see it, always glad to see Jerry's name continue to be poison in whatever community he tries to barge into.

To be fair to Jerry, the original goblins of German fairytales were indeed often based on what could be considered negative stereotypes for jews. But few people outside of JK Rowling bother with the old standards of goblin. Look at D&D, Warhammer, 40k, Warcraft, LoTR, those goblins share very little in common with the original concept of goblins.

Not to mention that goblins were NOT always allegorical for Jews. Sometimes in the stories they were just monsters because the concept of goblins wasn't forged by a single author.

Jerry, of course, doesn't have enough braincells to realize that things don't always stay where they start.

Like I said before, Lily has no idea how characters work and is too attached to the idea of them as playthings for her to use. Lily was the one who built up the idea in HER head of Sylvanas as somebody who can do no wrong, and then reacted poorly when her delusion fell to pieces. Don’t like a writing choice somebody made? Must be some underlying bigotry!
