If there's one thing I learned in my years as a leftie, it's radical leftists will never shut up about their so-called utopias, and will always fail to understand why people find them more akin to dystopias. Looneys think it'll be evident to everyone how objectively right their vision for the future is if only shown the light. Seriously that's one of the things that stuck more to my mind since I left communism. Right wing groups just talk about the problems they see and debate how to fix them. Left wing groups debate about how utopic the future will be and how to get there. And let me tell ya... Reason I got into socialism was to fix issues. Like hey, healthcare access cannot be guaranteed by the private sector, well public healthcare sounds like it'd fix that. Hey, employers are being abusive dicks again, well unions sound like a way to fix that. Hey, the private sector sure as shit can't be trusted to take care of the parts of our infrastructure that don't produce a profit but which are necessary for the country to function, better make sure the state covers the cost of that shit if we want to avoid becoming the 3rd world. But no, with lefty think tanks is all about how we get perfect equality, how to achieve a system with bullshit councils of whatever, how to fucking get people to go along with whatever stupid bullshit they're trying to shoehorn in now. Bitch we'll never get perfect equality and I sure as shit won't want it. I only ever asked about equality of opportunity. I just want people to be able to live without having to be scared of being abused, I don't care who does the abuse, public or private the boot doesn't taste any better. But no, apparently this is now considered a hot take. 'Cause right wingers tell me I'm a statist bootlicker for thinking their precious free market can fail in some aspects and lefties think I'm some kinda backwards bumpkin from a ranch in texas for thinking maybe we should be ensuring people's right to do what they want instead of trying to force them to do what we want them to do.
Holy fuck I'm starting to sound like a professor I knew... And I thought he was just a jaded mysanthropist back in the day.
