He met a girl named Erika online who happens to live near SLC in a town called Orem. They were going to meet for coffee, but Erika was very upfront that they were just friends and that was it. Of course, Russ being Russ, he ignored that part and posted he was in a relationship with a model. Well, he soon got creepy, so Erika tried to gently disengaged, but Russ wouldn't take the hint. Her boyfriend (who was acutally named Chad) told Russ to fuck off, leading Russ to conclude that she really liked him, it was just mean 'ol Chad keeping them apart. She finally told him to fuck off, but he kept harassing her from spoofed numbers after she blocked him. She finally called the police, and surprising, they charged him. At first, he had a sweetheart deal that would let him plead no contest and just be forbidden from contacting her and he had to stay out of trouble for a year. If he did, everything was dropped. HOWEVER, Erika petitioned the court to add treatment to his sentence, because she clearly felt he was disturbed. Russ rejected that, and demanded a jury trial. Not sure what happened, but Russ eventually ended up pleading guilty and getting a six month suspended sentence with 18 months probabtion, with an ordered psych eval. Erika's attorney wanted a psychosexual evaluation too, but that was stayed for the time being. Russ had 90 days to get the eval, and we don't know if he did. He's claiming now to have moved to Las Vegas, so maybe he thinks his probation doesn't apply there.

All his music is boring. He's terrible at songwriting, and will never get better because he thinks he's already great and doesn't make any effort to improve. That's pretty much his issue overall. He thinks he's already good at everything he does, so he refuses to learn from repeated attempts. I'm curious as to what his grades were in K-12 and that college. He says in the book he got As, but he says a lot of things.

At least most of his other songs have things so ridiculous about them that they stand out. "Getting Me Through" has nothing about it that's particularly interesting. And yeah there is zero chance he was getting good grades. If he was an A student, he could have done a real pre-law track instead of getting a paralegal degree. I seem to recall that the report of his "senior prank" mentioned that his grades were poor.
He was actually really into classes at school. I don't know his grades but he'd try and call everyone out that didn't do the readings for class and complain that others weren't doing the homework. The teacher got after him and told him to not worry about others. I don't know what the official grades were but I got As where I didn't try hard.
If you actually went to school w/him we need all the facts pronto! We know very little about his school years outside of the kill list. Was he an actual Sped, as we’ve heard rumored? What about running for class president? Classes he took, and was he unpopular? Any little thing would be a helpful addition to the canon.
I went to LDS Business College with him. Everyone at the school knew him back then for being harassing the girls at the school. I heard about the kill list at school before this website was even up. He admitted to this on a Facebook post years ago saying that he had a hit list. I had a roommate who worked with him as a janitor for the LDS church at the conference center. My roommate told me that he and other guys would have to escort the female employees to make sure that he wouldn't harass them since this was a common occurrence for him. He did personally tell me that he was evicted from the student housing for the school but never told me why. I heard from others about him.... you guessed it... harassing girls. But yeah, everything that's been stated on here I have heard about his younger days before kiwifarms was created and I've been told this from people who are from Evanston, WY.
On one hand, Russell putting effort into school sounds fake, even his piano playing skills are amatuer at best. He half arses things in general and coasts through life on "good intentions", "efforts" and pity.
They were paralegal classes I had with him. He was super into the classes and brought his books to every class. But the teacher was so chill and didn't ever give out any actual homework and assigned us to do readings. He honestly was probably the only person who read every week.

He supposedly "discovered" her music in jail and this was about the time he started seeking hookers so did either subject ever come up? Also, was he the kind of guy who would initiate conversations or was he super shy?
